rich(!) apollo,to be honest,till now i've never have saved press quality. So i tested it home,and exporting a press quality file from Illustrator cs4 on a g5 produces a pdf with live transparency. My company isn't prepared to upgrade from Acrobat 7 and CS suite-you don't change a winning...

I'm wondering how you check uv registration before exposure-print! Personally i open the imposed pdf from PR in illustrator,then place the uv imposition on top,lower the transparency if necessery and examine if the designer has done right. Could it be another more automated-sophisticated way...

This could be it,but you need to crop it first-i think that rande ''looses'' the image before he completes the crop action,at least that's what i understood! :)

Even if money was not a subject,i would go with the g4 option. In my opinion linocolor was much better than silverfast!

I figured out a ''solution'',deleting the group and sequence templates and using the backups i've got. I'm keeping backups because every now and then when i'm creating a job and assigning a sequense template to it,some java error message pops out and the template cannot longer be loaded-except...

Sounds really nice,we are using Agfa plates-lithostar if i'm correct- no problem with them but the raptor plate processor we have is a -big- pain in the ass,leaks all the time every 3 weeks needs service which takes 3 hours at least of very persistent scratching...

We have the prinect geometry tool in acrobat to do scalings among other things,but i don't know if you can do scaling in Signa. Most probably you'll need a pdf editor,or some plugin! :)
