Mimaki CJV30, bugging the jiggery out of me

Please post if you turn the corner on this problem, I have same issue on CJV, mostly on a real stretchy scrim material that seems like the heat plus the pressure from pull out wheels will cause those waves that as they unwind it makes the ripples, also if roll is cupped on ends or out of round...

    Smoother Solids versus Mottled Solids

yes but you can get mottled look from blankets and/or sequence issues, which would have no impact on ink consumption?

    UV PMS 2965 on Yupo

Sorry for your problem, but for us conventional guys it sure is nice to hear about UV problems, the manufactures keep flogging UV as a panacea, saying it will print on anything, guess not "anything"...

    What is my ink missing?

I always struggled with toyo Warm Red blends, would be super easy to implicate or rule out the ink, by getting another manufacturer to mix 3# of the problem color and run it head to head...

    Ryobi 582H Parts

take specs off the bulb and do a search, I always order those weird metric sizes from some place in GA

Unable to make small cuts on Polar 76EM

yeah sounds like it still thinks false clamp is on, may have to go in service menu and tell it false clamp is out..

Do Printers Still Need Service from their Ink Supplier ? ?

I think you are missing one thing, has the ink industry not made any advancements in the past 20 years? Does ink run faster, more consistent, dry better, etc? If the answer is yes and the industry has contracted, then it is only natural to think ink companies have less need of field techs...

Nanographic Printing Technology from Benny Landa

solvent ink jet heads are about 1 CM away from substrate, if the belt is heated maybe they had to move them back to keep from clogging heads...

    HP Indigo 5500 / 7500 monthly power usage $$ ?

Did not notice a big bump, it definitely does not draw 80 amps, cannot break it out from the 480 service that runs two offset presses, but if I would guess maybe in $200-300 range for solid 1 shift operation

Konika C8000 or Presstek DI 34/52??

DI is a offset printing press, if you have lots of static over 500-1000 runs then it would be better then any digital press, HOWEVER, and this is a big but, you will have to get a grumpy press operator to run it, because you will not be able to learn it unless you have offset press experience...

Nanographic Printing Technology from Benny Landa

So I guess you could say Benny introduced a liquid ink and a blanket to xerography and now has obstensively done the same thing with inkjet by building the image on a belt or "blanket" then using heat and pressure to transfer to the paper?

    HP 7500 Pros and Cons?

Wow, I wonder who commissioned that study, seems kind of bias, all I know is with my Indigo I have not seen a tech in 2 years, all the Xerox guys I know see them once a week...

new sm 75 xl with anicolor

yeah that is what they said about the 74 Karat, but how much more production can you really get with no ink key setting, we timed our half size make readies to 6-7 minutes, if you eliminate 60 minutes out of your day with no ink key setting, but then give it right back with 30 minutes at the end...

    Nanography and nanoprint

Give Benny credit for keeping a lid on it this long and stealing the show, I have to imaging that it will become a commercially viable product at some point (not installs by the end of the year like he said). But also, if he is able to do crappy quality at 12,000 SHP, which may be fine for some...

Nanographic Printing Technology from Benny Landa

Frank Ramono describe it as a "thermal" piezo head, not sure who is manufacture, I kind of doubt HP, maybe Ricoh or Epson?

Nanographic Printing Technology from Benny Landa

Benny's own timetable is to install machines late next year, so I will give it till then, but at some point he has to show his cards, or in this case his samples, so we can evaluate commercial viability...

Nanographic Printing Technology from Benny Landa

Guilty...I was caught up in the hype, thinking it was a game changer, but if he is using piezo thermal heads, then I think we have to call it a really rough beta version of an inkjet press, probably way behind kodak, HP, and Fuji, who have workable products for transmo or book applications, but...

Spot UV - offline with screen printing

could be technique... are you curing good? try to scratch on it and a tape test, if curing good with you lamps, then maybe try to go with a 280 screen to put some more film down, it will kind of flow out and self level smooth...
