Expert Opinion Needed on New Printer for Neophyte

I agree with Joe. Unless you have experience in the industry your biting off a lot. I've seen many others in your circumstances, outsourcing their printing, not happy with the pricing, figure they can do it on their own less expensive and more economical. As I sit here, I cannot think of any...

    Xerox 700 Problems

Dont feel bad. Having the same issues with our Ricoh 901. Many, many service calls, flew in a Ricoh Tech. Conference call with Ricoh techs from around the US. Changed developer units. Still no fix. Currently in a hold pattern to see what is going to happen next. Feel your pain.

Need parts for a Baumcutter 30.5

Broke the back end of the casing were the ram was coming down to hard and hitting it. Currently have it at a hydraulic shop getting repaired, hopefully by Monday. Thought after calling Baum and finding out they do not carry parts anymore for this knife that I ought to be proactive in finding...

Need parts for a Baumcutter 30.5

Does anyone have any thoughts on where I could purchase a new or used cutter hydraulic ram for a Baumfolder 30.5 cutter? Or does anyone have one for parts?

Air Humidity > Static > Paper Curl

Were I am located the humidity is usually around 0-10% year around. We run 2 humidifiers by our Ricoh trying to keep at least 20-25% humidity. It helps a little with paper curl but mainly our print quality improves a little when humidity is higher.

    Feeding 24" preprinted shells

Have to agree with Joe, Xante is NOT the machine to handle this job. Very unreliable and as stated earlier, leaves a background tint on gloss no matter what you do to try and fix it. Unlimited BT is right, not to many options that are inexpensive!

    Epson GS6000 vs HP L26500

Been running the Epson GS 6000 for about 6 months now and can honestly say we are very pleased with it. Great quality, great speed, low odor and will print on anything we have put thru it.

Xerox 700 down again, since last week, no repsonse from Xerox

Stew, We are currently looking at purchasing a 700. Could you pm me and let me know about the machine and maybe how long you have had it and when the problems started. Were are you located? We would buy out of SLC, Utah.

    Ikon, Here we go again.

Just an update. After having Ricoh fly in a tech and work on our 901, they are unable to fix the unit. Turns out, according to Ricohs specs., the unit was not to be installed over 6500' above sea level. We are slightly higher than that. So, we will try to do a couple more things like crank...

    Fui Ecomaxx on a Komori

We use them on our Komori Sprint and so far not a problem. They run great with our komorimatics. We have ran them about 9 months and I have nothing but good to say about them.

    freakin' 700!!!

Mojo, dont feel like your the only one. Every machine I've ever owned, Canon Xerox, Ricoh, the excuse is always the same. Right off the bat, the tech will always say. "it's the paper". Even when we run their approved stocks, "it's the paper", of course until the machine completely goes down...

    Vision? Customer relations?

Lukas, it's to bad that in these harsh economic times companies are not willing to step up and take care of their clients. Reason would suggest that when times are tough and business slow, a supplier will go above and beyond to keep current customers and court new ones. Unfortunately our...

    Ricoh 651/751

TOprint, be sure if you decide to go with a Rico unit that you include in your contract that the machine will come with a 2nd fuser unit. Dont rely on the sales departments word. We were told that it came with a 2nd unit but upon delivery found out that it was not included in the contract so...

    Creo Dolev 4 Press

Dont waste your money. One of the worst imagesetters ever. When we had ours the service tech was almost one of our employees he was here working on the machine that much. By the way, Creo techs arent cheap!!

    Ikon, Here we go again.

I have said it before, I believe that the c901 is one of the finest mid range color units on the market today. When it runs, the color is hard to beat, WHEN IT RUNS! As you've seen in former posts we have had a few issues with the machine putting horizontal and vertical lines in the print...

Anyone else having problems with VIM

As I have posted before, we purchased a VIM plate system about a year ago to produce plates for our Ryobi and Komori Presses. After many, many attempts to clear up the dot problems and image breakdown problems and trying to get a decent batch of 12 mils for the Komori we had no choice but to...

    Need A Good Adhesive Suggestion

I have a customer that wants me to print on labels that will adhere to a 7 mil plastic bag and not come off. All the samples I have can be peeled off pretty easily. Any suggestions? I can run them either offset or digital so can work with about any sheet size or roll.
