As I have posted before, we purchased a VIM plate system about a year ago to produce plates for our Ryobi and Komori Presses. After many, many attempts to clear up the dot problems and image breakdown problems and trying to get a decent batch of 12 mils for the Komori we had no choice but to return the equipment. Our supplier who we bought the unit from kept sending new plates but they always had the same issues regardless of what fountain solution or plate prep they would recommend. Lots of dots and plate break down issues after only 500 - 1000 images. We are in the process of trying to get VIM and our supplier who we ordered the equipment thru to make good on their promise to refund our money but after 6 months of trying we are finally forced to take legal action. My question, is there anyone else who has purchased a VIM system that is having problems with plates like we experienced. It is unfortunate that a company will not stand behind it's word. If you have experienced the same problems please tell us about it as it might save another printing company the headaches that we experienced for over a year. We have since purchased a Thermal unit and love it.
