problem with UV coating on a digital printer

exactly :) I'll try to get this sorted out, because I'm sure there's a way to do this. So I'll post here as soon as I have some results :)

problem with UV coating on a digital printer

I have a Toshiba 5520C. However I've tried prints from some production Xerox units and the result was the same.

problem with UV coating on a digital printer

I had some problems with coating SRA3 sheets from a digital press. The areas where there was more ink were ok, but the rest "soaked in". Do you guys have techniques of getting the whole area evenly done? It was on Xerox Colotech paper. Could the paper be an issue or maybe it's a matter of using...

    Toning on Sheet

I get that with gloss paper on my OKI machines. I have a c9800 and a c9650, and both are the same with any type of gloss.

What digital equipment would you recommend?

I'm not sure what your budget is. Maybe a Konica Minolta bizhub PRO 950 with an extra paper bank would be a good solution? Find out what the pay per click is on this machine in Russia. I'm also not sure how the Konica Minolta service is there, so I guess you would have to ask on a Russian board...

What digital equipment would you recommend?

First off, if you're looking for a used press, you should get it on a pay per click contract. From what I know, the main companies won't do that if you import the machine from another continent. If you get an expensive used printer and something is wrong with it, the cost of repairing the unit...

cool marketing ideas for a digital print company?

Hi, I found some pretty cool ideas for marketing on this forum, including a post from LongGoose: http://printplanet.com/forums/vdp-hardware-software-systems/17402-vdp-marketing-ideas "One of the best ideas I've heard of is a business sending out postcards - on the back of which was a map giving...

printing black on large areas of canvas

earlier today I picked up a canvas print I had done for one of my clients in a local large format printing shop (solvent). The colors turned out nice, but the large areas of black are much too light. It looks like around 70-80%. I'm guessing the material absorbes a lot of the ink because they...

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

they certainly look superior, but probably way out of my price range for now. I'm looking for something more 'entry level' :)

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

I would be interested but the Duplo would have to be somewhere in the UK / EU :) As for the system for my old cutter, I'm having a hard time finding the site I saw it on. I'll check later on again today, because I might have it somewhere in my history.

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

thanks for all the input. I'm still trying to figure out where to go with this. Another guillotine is not really what I'm looking for, but I found a company that makes programmators for older models. This could be good, but I'm still waiting for them to reply if they can install one on my unit...

    Oki 9650 Question

I have this printer and an older OKI C9800 GA. I use these printers on jobs that I would be affraid to try on my Toshiba 5520C. They've printed on everything I gave them. Well I ruined the c9800 by constantly feeding stock that was 350gsm and over, as well as toner refills, but after changing...

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

well it's hard to say, because right now all the cutting on the big guillotine ranges from 3-6 hours a day. The duplo (or other) unit would take off some of that time from the big machine.

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

good point :) I'll probably just stick to my guillotine for now unless somebody has another machine they can recommend?

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

I checked this out but it's not really what I'm looking for. I have a large guilotine here, although it doesn't have a programmer, which would come in handy. The thing is, with digital print I'm also concerned that the printer can move the print around on the sheet a little. Usually this is...

could you recommend some units? Especially for cutting

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

I'm looking for a unit that will cut flyers etc, but also be able to do business cards. From what the guy told me at duplo, it looks like the DC-545 can handle a bit thicker stock than in the specs, but the knives might have to be replaced a bit sooner than normal. anyway, I'll have a look at...

opinions on DUPLO Docucutter DC-545 ?

I'm thinking of getting a used DUPLO Docucutter DC-545. Is it worth considering or are there better units in its price range?

    free imposition??

thanks for the link. I found this in another thread before and I'll test it out today. However a program that's not an online version would be better :)

    free imposition??

oh, this looks pretty good :) I'll look into it if we don't find a free solution. $49.9 is a pretty good price for this kind of software.
