    Iridesse Problems

This is sounding worse by the day. I was kinda "close" to getting an Iridesse about 7 months ago. But I ended up "passing" when Mother X and I could not come to terms on click rates and base charges..... I own TWO Colorpress and to be honest the alignment has always been pretty damn GOOD on...

KM C6100 Vs Canon 10000 VS Xerox 3100

I looked at a KM 6100 vs . Ricoh 9200 vs. Canon 10000 vs. Iridesse I chose the RICOH 9200. Why? #1 - Canon was 2nd most expensive box and the POWER that things NEEDS is crazy. No thanks... #2 - Iridesse was MORE expensive for the box and the Click RATE was by FAR the highest of the 4 #3 -...

    New Digital Press Suggestion

InkJet does "seem" to be the wave of the future. But we have been hearing that for about 5 years now. I'm curious to see when they can become price competitive on the box. Last pricing I was seeing / hearing was still "around $1 million ish " That's still crazy high.... We got into our...

    New Digital Press Suggestion

That's a pretty shitty response man.... Just trying to tell you the "real" truth about what is REALLY out there in the print world. If you wanna dream about "75k" flyer orders go on ahead.

    New Digital Press Suggestion

For "variable" then Digital in the only way to go. 50k-75k run of "anything" is pretty rare. Biggest jobs we see are usually around 10k-15k range....

    New Digital Press Suggestion

"Digital" is NOT going to be an OPTION for runs of 100k - 150k Postcards. That is "offset" all day...... everyday.... Digital can not compete "cost wise" in that quantity area. Offset will eat that alive

    New Digital Press Suggestion

Yes, you can put the "clear" anywhere The PROBLEM is that IF that "area" has any "color / toner" on it you WILL NOT see the clear AT ALL because the Xerox output is so GLOSSY It will HIDE the clear It's like putting GLOSS on top of GLOSS. You will NOT see the difference and therefore the...

    New Digital Press Suggestion

Another "NO WAY" Xerox "click rate" is NOT lower than RICOH Also, figure in the MAGIC "xerox SERVICE base" that ONLY they charge and your click basically goes UP about another .01 cent too By my MATH the XEROX click is about 2x times HIGHER than what you can and will get from RICOH.......

    New Digital Press Suggestion

We "sell" CLEAR mayyyyybeeeee 2 times a YEAR It's a gimmick. The XEROX naturally prints VERY "glossy" You can ONLY use the CLEAR in an "unprinted" / WHITE areas Really tricky to "design around" XEROX sold it ALMOST like it could be used as "SPOT UV" Nope........

    New Digital Press Suggestion

There is a NO WAY an Iridesse is 1/2 the COST of a 9200 No way....... I was seeing the Xerox Iridesse come in between $50,000 and $75,000 MORE than the 9200.

    New Digital Press Suggestion

Iridesse is a "glorified" COLORPRESS 10 Year old tech that is not even XEROX tech It came out of FUJI and XEROX "bought" the right to sell "outside" of Japan because Xerox has NOT innovated in OVER 10 years. Iridesse is NOT a "bad" box, it's just not really anything "new" or better..... The...

    Junk Drums from Xerox lately.

2nd BTB units have been a "problem" on our COLORPRESS machines for about the last 1.5 - 2 years. They are good for about 30,000 - 60,000 prints. Then......... fail.

    What's out there?

9200 is a GREAT machine. Had ours for about 5 months. So far so good... It does NEED 3-phase 240V Power It REQUIRES TWO 50AMP lines to run it Make sure you have 100 AMPS "free" in your PANEL or things are going to get REAL expensive REAL quick with an electrician.....

negotiating new contracts - click charges?

Did Xerox "disclose" that they generally charge a "monthly base" FEE that does NOT include any clicks? It just covers part of their "service costs". This "base" FEE usually runs between $1,000 to $1,400 PER MONTH in ADDITION to your "click" charges. Check your contract. BET ya it's in...

negotiating new contracts - click charges?

No All the "per click" quotes I got we're based on a ZERO base usage. No minimum or maximum required per month. FLAT rate PER click. Period.

negotiating new contracts - click charges?

In my "recent" experience with this.... Canon offered the LOWEST click RICOH had the 2nd BEST "rate" KM was right behind RICOH Xerox was the highest..... Best bet is to get ALL FOUR vendors "bidding" on your account and see who is willing to be the MOST aggressive to EARN your business...
