AGFA finishing gum; you have more thicker layer on plates than normal. Check and readjust squeezing pair of roller at gumming section before a dryer.

    avantra 30 error 149

Farshad, that guy has neither parts nor service docs for fast and correct diagnostics. Positioning himself as a Field Serviceman, he tried to grab any opportunity (AGFA, ECRM, Panther etc) to earn his money, then he imediately appeared at some forums and started asking the question how to fix...

I have nothin' personal against iCTP, they have their nishe and have a right to exist. I've said about printhead nozzles, driving user nuts.

Squeak on AB Dick DPM - service?

As a certified FSE by Denmark ScanView A/S Co (who created that imaging system AKA DotMate), I confirm there is nothing to create a squeaking noise at the imager side when IDLE, but the processor could, because of very low speed of rack rollers to avoid any crystallization at air/fluid border.

Am I the only one who hates preps 6 and misses preps 5?

Outsourced to Israel..., and Canadian guys from Van were not supportive because they were laid off "in the middle of the road". Every programmer will tell you that's much more easy to start the scripting from the scratch than to follow somebody's programm.

    Avantra 44 and 44S

Even better - only spinner has to be replaced, but new Software to be downloaded/re-written on DEC and OCP. 44XT - DEC to be replaced as well.

    Topsetter 74P / 102P speed on 745/605 plates

Yes, maximum speed is 1000 rpm for both types, but are drum dimensions different? I'm sure 102 has longer drum but did not find info about drum diameter. And don't forget there are SCREEN 4000 and 8000 OEM CTPs!

    Topsetter 74P / 102P speed on 745/605 plates

Heads are the same (32 LD head), loader-unloader is the same, drum size is different. The only one reason: bigger format needs more time to be exposed, so less plates per hour be produced. Need more plates p/h - look at PF102 model with 64 laser diodes imaging head. 20 plates at 2400 dpi. I've...

    Blinding problem

Winnipeg Sun used (I'm not sure nowadays) 2 Galileos VXT with LP82 in-line with a conveyor and a bender for 3 years, and I was a serviceman on-call 24/7 for them.

    Agfa Accuset 1200 w Star 600 Calibration

My last service for MultiStar600 has happened in 2006, Winnipeg. I did not make a copy of installer CD or floppies, understanding the time of hardware RIPs is over.

    Avantra30

I have two relay boards (as a source for spare relays) with burnt wholes at the place for Main motor relay. Incorrect calculation to get a proper relay type (contacts load of the current) caused fast spark-worn effect, overheating, mechanical clinch and final fire. The first symthom was unstable...
