    Purchasing Printing Business (digital only)

Hi there. Looking at purchasing a very small business. (customer base only). He is happy to sell his gear separately (I don't want it, I already have the same if not better gear). Basically I'm just getting phone numbers, website, customer files, thats about it. I know there is normal figures...

Hi there, Just scored myself one of these little beauties. ( cheap, I hope I don't end up regretting it:-). Don't even know for sure if it go's at this stage. Trying to track down a manual, Can anyone direct me to a site? or I don't even mind purchasing if any one has one? Does any one out there...

    Duplo DC 646 v DC 645

thanks for this info As I'm in New Zealand I probably won't worry about the one on "wirebirds" Did Duplo miss a "647" model? Same speed and rated for the same gsm for the 645 compared to the 646? thanks

    Duplo DC 646 v DC 645

Hi there. I am thinking about purchasing a 646 (second hand) I have been offered a 645 at a fraction of the price. Obviously the 645 is quite a bit older. What are the main differences "spec" wise? I be struggling to get a reasonable ROI on a 646 (unless I can get one very cheap) easy on a 645...

Serial connection. Mutoh Value cut - windows 10

Hi there. Re: Windows 10 to Mutoh Valuecut. Serial connection on Mutoh to USB on PC. I have a dodgy USB connection on my Valuecut. (I think someone tripped over the cable) Easy fix I thought :-) switch to serial to USB. not so:-( So close but so far. See photos one to three. Could it be a...

    Xerox EOL Schedule

You might have trouble with this. Xerox would struggle selling v2100 or V3100 if they published an EOL date. Having said that they generally will garantee support for X numbers of years at time of sale. I feel the V2100 will reach EOL at least 2/3 years before the V3100. Also it will very as to...

    Perfect binder. Bourg v Horizon

    Perfect binder. Bourg v Horizon

Thanks Guys. If they were the same age/condition I think it would be a no brainer but interesting to know about the Bourg cover feed feature. At this stage it looks like the Bourg is ahead and I guess I could put the $3k difference into repairs if need. ta Simon

    Perfect binder. Bourg v Horizon

Hi there. I have the opportunity to purchase a small perfect binder. Taking price out the equation (Horizon is about 3k more) which would you go for? Bourg 3001 v Horizon BQ160 (bourg is at least 13years older). Your thoughts? I am just looking at photos on the interweb but because of the age...

    Small Perfect Binder

Thanks Peter and Alex. This is all very useful. I don't think "Sterling" have an agency here (New Zealand) but I'm guessing if they are very reliable it might not be an issue. Seems "PUR" glue is the way to go and wont get the "box" shaped sort. thanks again. ta Simon

    Small Perfect Binder

Looking at getting a small 2nd hand perfect binder. Most likely a Horizon, Duplo or Morgana. (I have to have access to to support, so needs to be a well know brand with back up in this part of the world). Definitely not Chinese. Only doing small volumes I have heard that some have problems with...

    Xerox versant 3100

Maybe I should elaborate. Yes I do get something similar on my V2100 but it is much closer to the edge say 10mm (so about the 440mm point) on Sra3 sheets (450mm x 320mm). Tech describes it as tail edge flick. Never had it on stock less than 300gsm. Slowing the machine down helps a little. Seldom...

    Xerox versant 3100

Dont get this on my much older V2100. Well I wont say I "never" have!. but most definatley not a design flaw. Kick up a stink until they get it sorted.

    Graphic Whizard Fm 100

Thanks George. Yes that was what I was doing. Maybe the rollers are more worn than I think!. that is the only answer I have. These are not common machines in this part of the world. (very hard to talk to anyone who knows much about them) I was trying to get it to feed without feeding doubles...

    Graphic Whizard Fm 100

Hi there. Just scored myself an old Graphic Whizard FM 100. Rollers look good ( they seem newish.) The issue is feeding doubles. (It is only a friction feed machine). It seems the only way to stop this is to fan out all the sheets (so each is staged slightley from the one above it). As you can...

    Duplo DC-616 v DC-646

Thanks guys. All very useful information. Just need to work out the ROI. I think it would be a no brainer if I had the volume???. I'm not so worried about the perfing options between the 616 and 646 (I have other machines to do that on) In a nutshell the two main differences between the two...

    Duplo DC-616 v DC-646

Hi there. Seems to be a huge difference in cost between these two machines. Apart from speed what are the differences?. With the 616 being that much slower! would there be much of a difference in the trimming time in say x21up bcards with a guillotine. I can trim x500 cards in under 15mins on...

    V80 vs v2100

Hi Dan. Have owed both these machines. The 2100 is a better machine (more bells and whistles, better registration etc) If on a service plan I would not worry that the 2100 has done more clicks thann the V80 (not your problem:-) this is why every one tells you your crazy if you dont go for the...
