    white CMYK overprints

faux transparancy . if you wanted to darken a spot colour or cmy you could set a black to white gradient to overprint, perhaps with a large area of white. You could then export to pdfx 1 or 3. I also once created a pdf with white text set to overprint reading "If you can read this text then...

Remote Proof Spot Colour Separation in colour

Using Prinergy, is it possible to produce a spot colour separation file in colour, as a small file we can ftp to a remote site for ink-jet proofing. Our client requires 6 colour jobs to be output on one sheet as a composite colour and then the 2 spot colours as progressives as 2 additional...

Should i convert job/PDF to desired out color profile befor sending to RIP or not...?

On the one hand this is a perfectly good strategy, on the other hand background tints that would be better off converting don't get converted. If I was playing devil's advocate I'd say this is a bad idea because you are arbitrarily choosing to change only half the job! But, it is often the way I...

Should i convert job/PDF to desired out color profile befor sending to RIP or not...?

I'm assuming the plate curves you mention are calibration curves and your RIP is not Profile converting. In theory converting to Fogra29 when you make the pdf (or maybe better to make the conversion in Acrobat) will change the numbers and hold the appearance for printing on uncoated stock...

Permanent Crop Pitstop and or Acrobat

Offsetting the Media box by a negative amount only seems to work on the page you are viewing + if there is a Crop box you can't easily see the change. Then trying to apply to all pages in document pages appears to have no effect.

Permanent Crop Pitstop and or Acrobat

struggled with something similar the other day, I needed to move all the content up 5mm and re-crop, because it was hundreds of pages I had to shift the pdf page boxes around the content, no matter what I tried I could not get it to work with Pitstop and ended up resolving with Prinergy Geometry...

    Prinergy 6 and JDF import

Your kodak vendor maybe correct, I'm using the full version of Prinergy, you are using the Connect version. my old workflow (Prinergy 5) create job - template selection (made in preps 5.3) - Prinergy automatically creates .job .pjtf and Page set - populate page set with refined pages my new...

    Prinergy 6 and JDF import

Pretty sure yes. We have Prinergy 6 and Preps 7.1, but we still re-use, and make some new, Preps Templates from 5.3. We used to write pjtf when printing from Preps 5.3 to Prinergy 5, but we can still import those impositions into Prinergy 6. You can also open the old impositions into Preps 7 to...

    Prinergy Workshop and Yosemite

Thanks for all the replies, The information and correct Link was buried in Gordo's website link, but manually downloading and installing from Joe's Link seems to have done the trick, I've also managed to get re-registered on the GUA forums and someone there has posted instruction to re-install...

    PDF and Open Type Fonts

Pitstop Pro. I downloaded Roboto fonts from Google and had no issues outlining them in InDesign, perhaps the customer's Roboto fonts in the pdf were from a different source.

    PDF and Open Type Fonts

In my case Pitstop would not outline the Roboto fonts, I was using the action list to outline all fonts, wonder if I need to outline them using a different action?

    Prinergy Workshop and Yosemite

Yosemite has Java 7 installed, I'm not getting any automatic downloads from Workshop. Adobe Version Cue (legacy app system pref) is also popping up a message about requiring Java 6 when I start the Mac. I updated to 10.10.2 yesterday, if I get some time this afternoon I'll take another look...

    PDF and Open Type Fonts

Last week Prinergy refused to refine the Roboto family of fonts, security/permissions prevented outlining these fonts in the pdf. Eventually had to go back to InDesign and outline there. Roboto turned out to be completely legitimate free fonts, just they are designed for Android (available...

    Prinergy Workshop and Yosemite

Are there any methods of getting this combo working (even partially) Kodak support said we need to wait till April 2015. At the moment Workshop is stalling with a message that Java 6 is needed, but the link is to a Lion install. Many years ago I used to have to use a few sudo commands to get...

    Can you export this file?

@stephen marsh not sure if this would have anything to do with your elephant, my Colour Polcy Settings in InDesign are set the same as your infographic but When I opened Marcus' original .idml in CS6 you do not get the expected warnings that the document is mismatched (using ProPhoto RGB and US...
