Running Synthetic Stock (ie Digituff, NeverTear, Synaps etc) on Versant 280

Synaps in 5mil, 8mil, and 10mil... never any more curl than the stock might start with. BOAT LOADS of static though recently we switched to MGX Xquisite DT in 6mil/8mil/10mil. Half the cost of Synaps, its made out of Polyethylene instead of Polyester. It will fail/tear if you put holes in it...

Makeready Software in 2026 (TF Prep, PrismaPrepare, AccurioPro etc)

these are the select options that aren't page 3 explicit. when recording a macro you can combine the "home" or "end" key and "pages on the same sheet" to select both from and back (if applicable), then assign a paper media. Otherwise, if you were to say "click" on the page, it will record that...

Makeready Software in 2026 (TF Prep, PrismaPrepare, AccurioPro etc)

Fiery supports JDF, so Prepare just sends the appropriate JDF data for Fiery to assign media/etc. The biggest hiccup between the two is (either Prepare or Fiery, never sure which) is expecting certain paper catalog values to match explicitly. Basically if it doesn't match just right, the paper...

Makeready Software in 2026 (TF Prep, PrismaPrepare, AccurioPro etc)

We use PrismaPrepare with both Canon Devices and Xerox (using JDF). Xerox was a paid for integration. Hands down, you can't replicate the PrismaPrepare Page programming and Print setup using Acrobat and CWS. Tab creation is super easy with PrismaPrepare. My preferred method is a flat text...

    Yellow(ish) text on white background

@jwheeler normally I would agree... these usually are staff/teacher supplied files, usually found off the internet as "free to print". Normally our in-house created documents don't have these issues, and those documents that are created by staff with these kinds of problems are kicked back to...

Pitstop Pro - Forcing either single page or current page programmatically?

I tried combining the two operations, but actions like the removal of objects outside of the media box are ignored because they aren't selected and thus not removed. After resizing the cropped page, if necessary to unify card sizes, content that should have been removed is being revealed.

Pitstop Pro - Forcing either single page or current page programmatically?

@loicaigon Here is the problem I run into over and over again with files I receive from our science department. I need to constantly crop out "cards" off a page, then immediately turn around and treat the individual pages where the remaining content is removed and media\trim boxes are changed...

    Yellow(ish) text on white background

This is within Acrobat with supplied PDFs, using Pitstop Pro to select the affected text and apply the modification.

    Yellow(ish) text on white background

I'm always looking for better/new ways to fix people's stupid design choices. I tinker with different things and usually come back to this nearly every time... maybe you people do something I haven't tried yet. Typically in circumstances like light colored text on a white background, where the...

Versant 4100 cross process dust grabbing

cool... its 1-bagillion percent having to experiment. In service mode there is a calibration entry for the speed of fuser, likely it is off by 1% across the board. that 1% doesn't make a big difference on narrow 8.5x/A4 papers, but will add up on larger 17x/18x/19x stocks. I warn against...

Versant 4100 cross process dust grabbing

I've seen something similar to this with our V4100... its caused (in our case) by the fuser running at a different speed than the IBT. The sheet essentially buckles while going into the fuser, causing the sheet to ever so slightly rub into the top of the fuser entry. Are you using any speed...

    Versant 80 toner issues

measure between identical repeating lines (in millimeter).... compare the repeats to this chart. my guess is they are 45mm? 22.5 or 45 Mag Roll in the Developer Housing Replace the Developer Housing (PL 5.2)

    Versant 80 Toner Lines

I can't say for certain, but I don't think those marks are coming from your fuser. It looks like it's dragging against something in the paper path post-fuser.

is it unrealistic to expect good photo prints out of a CMYK digital toner press?

I second leaving them in RGB. adjusting the toning curve might help as stated, we find our Xeroxs are pretty well balanced. Fiery also has the ability to "adjust" images at the time of processing... sorta works YMMV

Xerox Versant 80 - NCR / Horizontal Streaking

it doesn't look like 2nd BRT to me. It looks like the upper inside of the fuser assembly, like the sheet is buckling and rubbing into it. The inside of the fuser cover likes to collect huge amounts of residue toner over time. I'd check the inside of the lid. While you are there, check the...

is it unrealistic to expect good photo prints out of a CMYK digital toner press?

We print photos all the time on our Xeroxs (Versant 4100s). I warn people ahead of time that they are not "photo printers" and not to expect "Kodak" quality, but overall the photos do come out well enough. I find it best practice to print them lighter, at about 95%. Also a good super...

Pitstop Action list to move select objects on a page

** and second thought, do you have it processing "Current Document", or just "Pages" or "Current Page" turned on?
