    Cutting Techniques

I like to cut off the non-operator side first for digital runs, treating the sheet as if it has gripper guide like a press does. You can't just cut by the numbers see this discussion https://printplanet.com/threads/duplo-dc-616.295260/ digital printing machines have shrinkage it doesn't matter...

Color consistency on my Ricoh devices

I'm not sure I understand "morning warm ups" or "specific light glass"? I used those terms for my old canon printers but not on a ricoh.

Is there a way to fake a bleed?

I have a 7210 and like others say, it it ugly, but yes you can fake it by lying about stock size and only bleed 2 edges. I have not tried it on that small. I'll do it to a 11.25x17.5 to get 4 bleeds up with as much gutter as I can but i'm still trimming all 4 sides on the finished piece. I also...

Is there a way to fake a bleed?

Why? rerunning the paper back through 1 up will likely cost you more in click charges than rerunning it 4 up 2 sided would anyway. Right? unless your printing on gold valued paper.

    VDP Options

The printer is rated at 160/min but inkjet quality can you use a lower resolution setting to generate the file(pdf) and keep the print quality similar? Are you using overlay/masters to keep from resending the same art for every page? "Adobe crashes after 6 hours…" what part is taking 6 hrs...

    Realistic Volume Expectations - v900

Your attachment shows 500,000 max pages that's 250,000 2 up (full size) and cut again for cover it's still double your math. But yes that kind of volume go bigger and faster you will probably get a better click rate too.

Problem printing textured paper on the Ricoh 7210S.

Both Mohawk 270gsm and Neenah classic linen 340gsm but mine are digital stocks. I don't see a digital version of "Fedrigoni paper, tintoretto gueso 250gr." sorry that may be the biggest issue.

Problem printing textured paper on the Ricoh 7210S.

I'm about to run a solid blue business card on a textured cover 12x18 granted its a short run quantity but its been a job from back before digital days. I only pulled this to digital instead of shells on a press because the 7210 prints it so well. My canons never could get as nice a solid...

Problem printing textured paper on the Ricoh 7210S.

Use the manual (check box) setting to define the paper and textured is a check box under paper type. My 7210 is the best textured paper printer I've owned most my others were canon printers.

Crushed Blanket? More on the blemishes in the 1969 Stanford Daily

It is the item that drops in the press that's determines the shape. Our most recent was a screw, we could make out the individual treads when a solid ink fell where the damage occurred. These look like glue gloobs from a poorly splice web to me.

    Overlapping pages lose bleed

Couldn't you build the bleed into the bottom of the overlapping image that is above it. So that the page that overlaps includes the bleed for the page below it. Or is it variable?

Crushed Blanket? More on the blemishes in the 1969 Stanford Daily

Ok you peaked my interest, whats the "50 year old mystery" and why do you think they were intentionally made? Was it your add? I commented on the origional post from a printers perspective, there are reasons to alter blankets for specific jobs but... to damage a press run because of a specific...

    Quite Imposing: De-Imposing a booklet?

I re-read my scattered posts and did a poor job explaining it. It is more of a manual answer than automated too, but how often are you really doing this? 1. crop the printers spreads in from the left half way and save as the first half of the book. 2. crop second copy of book in from the right...

    Quite Imposing: De-Imposing a booklet?

Sorry about deleting my original post I knew I was forgetting a step. after cropping the second half of the book print to pdf and use the reverse page check box to create a new second half in reverse order. Since these are files from the 1990's I would do it this way.
