    Thanks for this.

    Adding Print and Mail?

I'm not sure what to think of this one. It seems close to my suggestion of using the IMb and leaving all the other info off except for number and suite. On the "Special Code" I see the delivery point and apartment number. Not sure what the 99 is. Possibly derived from the +4 to identify the...

100% delivery. Of course, all the recipients were postal employee home addresses throughout the country.

    Adding Print and Mail?

Back when the IMb was being implemented, I did some digital printing for the USPS test mailings before launch. The card had a return address, G-10 permit, and an IMb. That's it. It mailed from Merrifield, VA and was targeting all states. It had 100% success. I don't know how the carrier knew...

Custom perforated paper in large quantity

Thanks! What kind of lead time did it require? I also wonder if that is still an option in the current paper climate.

Custom perforated paper in large quantity

Does anyone have a good source for 50k to 100k 13x17 60# with a single perf? Need it for a large variable job.

    Adding Print and Mail?

I understand what you are saying, but what you suggest already happens with retail first class mail. The pieces gets scanned and if there is a change of address on record the USPS sends it where it needs to go. In the case of presorted mail, we are getting the discounts to sort the mail so the...

    Opinions needed....

We explain that the poor condition of the materials is not our fault. We can make it work, but it will require extra labor charges to work through it. OR they can go back to the supplier that provided the bad material to make it right. They usually opt for us to do it and try to keep the drop...

We make one adju$tment that tends to correct issues on the next job.

    The Quick Printer

LOL. We never did while you wait for offset, but we did do 1 hour turnaround. Most jobs were in by 11, out by 4. Good, Cheap, Fast. Pick 2.

    Quite Imposing for VDP?

So, I assume you don't have InDesign then.

We always note on work orders and invoices the supplier of each piece. It's either us, our trade partners, or the end client. Very rarely do we have an issue with material supplied by our trade partners. End client supplied material is often problematic. This is especially true with envelopes...

Lines in the print on iJet 1175P

We have been evaluating machines also. The 1175 was our favorite hardware, but we are becoming less than confident in iJet as a company. At this price point of the 1175, the concept of good enough doesn't fly. There have been other issues of product support noted in these forum that were...

Lines in the print on iJet 1175P

I questioned because my kit is very good. No hint of lines anywhere. It also looked like more than lines in your image. Lower left appeared to be more like banding, and there appeared to be edge artifacts like it was a low resolution image, so I was thinking that whoever ran the sample had...

Lines in the print on iJet 1175P

I suspect it is the file, not the printer. That file has issues. Get a sample from a high quality file. Did that come like that in the sample kit from iJet?

Where to Buy OEM Ricoh 7110 Toner

True, but if it is a buy-back product you really don't know what it has been through. Was it stored in an unusually hot location? If so you could get some clumping. But direct from Ricoh is not good. ADD: Of course, you don't know where it has been during the trip to your location. It could...

    Best envelope printer?

If you have enough volume to keep it running fairly regularly, I favor the inkjet. You can bleed with inkjet. You won't need special heat proof windows for inkjet. I do NOT recommend the Xante. If you had to go laser, I would do IntoPrint (Oki). The inkjet does not limit you to envelopes. You...

    Best envelope printer?

I favor the HP engine (Rapidcolor 1170, iJetColor 1175 Pro) over the memjet engine (MachX, Colordyne, Astro, iJetColor NXT). I think the HP colors are more saturated than the memjet. The HP is more economical than the memjet.

    QuarkXpress...

I thought I was in heaven with a Digitek and a preview screen that would actually display a whole page. It took a couple of minutes to rasterize the page on screen.
