    Realtor Buying Printer

I googled OP. His website says he's a BROKERAGE, not a real estate agent. Meaning he's way more invested in real estate than your typical agent. I didn't bother doing much searching on OP, but running a brokerage is only cost-effective if you have several agents working for you and/or you're...

    Xerox V280 - New 36 Month Lease

regarding booklet maker... I love mine, however, most of the guts in our booklets do NOT have bleed, so I run the covers oversize, cut them down and use the inserter for the covers. But some of my books have full bleed guts. I used to print, cut and then feed the hole thing through the...

    Xerox V280 - New 36 Month Lease

sorry, I'm unclear. What do you mean "no fix"? is the machine dead? Doesn't service repair the BTR for free as part of the contract?

Help Needed Choosing Between Two Digital Press Machines

They stopped supporting my v80 last year, so we got a v280. Getting parts specific to the v80 at the end of last year was a pain in the butt. We still have our v180, so I'm disappointed that I only have three years left.

Plike paper in a Xerox Primelink C9065

is it jamming because of static? Maybe fan the paper more than you would normally before putting it in the tray?

    Teaching Creatives

man! that is the worst I had a "professional" photographer's client complain to me that the photos were flat and bleh. Then the photographer came to complain to me and said JUST THAT! I asked, "is your monitor calibrated to my press?" He didn't understand. Also, I hate Canva sooooo much...

Howdy neighbor! Thanks for the static advice!

Duplo DC-616: Business Card Cutting Issues

this is where my system fell apart. Going that narrow caused trimmings to get stuck on rollers and cutter causing some cards to cut very poorly and leaving a mess to clean up. the trimmings were too light to overcome the static and fall into the waste bin. I'm in Denver Colorado with low...

Duplo DC-616: Business Card Cutting Issues

well, I tried. I reduced the lead, reduced the gutters and "extended" the sheet size. Nothing works well. Reducing the gutters to 3mm was a headache as the paper slices were too small/light to fully fall into the waste bin, so they collected on the cutter and caused some of the cards to cut...

3-d wall decorations done with my equipment?

thanks for asking. Nothing new. Not sure how to achieve the 3d paper art using the duplo since that art looks like it would need a 45* crease. Photos showing what i did in OP re:"statue of liberty" idea. It's a throw back to mechandising when I worked in a record store in the 80s. Are you...

Duplo DC-616: Business Card Cutting Issues

i'm guessing you reduced bleed from 1/8" to 1/16"? With 1/8, there's no room to reduce lead?

    Mimaki JFX200 printing issues, Help

are you laying down white ink first? i've never printed on aluminum without a white back, so I'm not sure how the color profile will work without the white? I'm guessing you're first cleaning your substrate with 99% alcohol to remove any residue or other build-up? Like offering advice on the...

Duplo DC-616: Business Card Cutting Issues

i know the slitter minimum is 5mm, but I wonder what the cutter minimum is? I haven't looked. Maybe the 616 will allow a 4mm gutter and you can then get the last row to cut properly?

Duplo DC-616: Business Card Cutting Issues

my guess is that the tail of the sheet needs to have a minimum amount of paper to properly hold and cut the last card. Maybe try making the programmed sheet size 5-10mm longer? If it works, it still might cause the last set of cards to skew?

    Xerox rant!

yeah, thanks, that's what i'm doing however, I have more jams going through the fuser than bypassing the fuser using just the inserter, Tray T1. And a jam on a multi-sheet booklet is annoying to clear.

    Xerox rant!

thank you but I'm not following your suggestion? My goal is to run the entire booklet through the inserter/Tray T1 and avoid the fuser. If I add blank sheets before the fuser, then I have tear them out of each booklet?

Duplo DC-616: Business Card Cutting Issues

i had this, no solution, went to 3x7 format. I can do 24up on a 13x19, but the rest of my workflow is 12x18 and I don't want to adjust the guide for the paper width every time.

    Xerox rant!

Most of my booklets, the cover is only full bleed, so I run the cover through the inserter tray which bypasses the fuser. On occassion, I have projects that are full bleed guts. So, I'll print the entire booklet bleed, then trim down on my Duplo, then run the entire booklet through my inserter...

When or why is an (expensive) RIP important?

Most jobs I print do not have variable data and only some of them are very complex. I've never "needed" an expensive, high-end RIP. For those extra difficult jobs, i just schedule them to print over-night. I'll start the job 30-60 minutes before i leave just to make sure it's all good, load up...
