Konica 6100 / Fiery issue with transparency

Unfortunately our shop uses Canon's PrismaSync controllers so I haven't used a Fiery in about 10 years.

Konica 6100 / Fiery issue with transparency

https://gwg.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/efi_fiery_ghent_output_suite_50_fg_US.pdf Make sure your settings are correct. I printed the file on my printer and it printed without issue.

Konica 6100 / Fiery issue with transparency

A PDFX/4 workflow could probably prevent this. You can go here to get test files and instructions on being compliant. You shouldn't have to flatten or anything once you get it working, and it will eliminate tons of future issues.

What to get after Xerox Versant 3100, what is in same class or a bit better?

Canon/Oce has a headquarters in Venlo which might be a selling point for service and parts availability. I wouldn't go with in-line finishing, I'd get an offline machine that you can continue to use no matter what printer you use. An offline booklet maker will last you several generations of...

Lines in the print on iJet 1175P

It's been my experience that vendor samples are usually not quality controlled. I've seen samples of Canon's iX with print head strikes, and that's a million dollar machine. We have the nxt, and these voids pop up occasionally, but I just wipe the head with a lint free cloth and it's back to...

    printers on carpet

We have one machine in a carpeted room and one on concrete. I've never noticed any issues on either machine. If you're concerned with spills just buy a toner vac.

    Upgrading to a Canon V700

The 750 is an Imagepress. If the new V models have corner registration then it should solve all of my complaints with registration. That's what our 10000 uses and it's fantastic.

    Upgrading to a Canon V700

We are a Canon shop. We have an Imagepress 750, a 10,000 and a Varioprint 6320. We were sold a 750 as a proofing machine and a lightweight backup for emergencies. It does a poor job of staying in register when you calibrate media. It also does a poor job of holding that registration throughout...

    Upgrading to a Canon V700

Registration sucks on the 7/8/900 Canon's. I'd go with someone else.

Ricoh vs Cannon vs Xerox Quality...

I would love an iX, but last i heard they're in the 1million dollar range. Also, for what it's worth, Canon's production printers register to a corner, so they back up much more reliably than other digital printers.

Ricoh vs Cannon vs Xerox Quality...

I feel like the 6000/7000 had a lot of problems, so a lot of shops jumped ship. I pretty much hated running our 6010 near the end since I was constantly getting tail end fading and it printed terribly on uncoated stocks. We're running a 1000 currently, and will likely upgrade to the V series...

Envelope printing saga with Riso ComColor-- Looking at iJet NXT or Mach6

I would hate running an NXT for that volume. I ran 5000 #10s the other day and it felt like it took forever. The printhead on the NXT also constantly needs cleaning or I get voids.

    Political Mailings

I dunno if it's a California thing, but damn near every political mailing went away for us because everyone wants a union bug now. Not complaining, since political clients are the worst, but you might want to not get too invested before you realize you can't print anything because they want to...

    Beware of Printware

Yes, that's the correct ink from Addrex. Printware's ordering page shows the same inks for the classic and the nxt, so they should be the same.

Offset preprinted #80 gloss through digital

I would guess they applied a coating that inst allowing the toner to adhere. I don't know Ricoh, but on my Canon I'd probabaly tell it it's 100#T so it uses the secondary fuser for better fusing.
