Xerox Versant 180 Stapled Sets Misfeeds/Out of Order

I have not seen you mention humidity levels. To high or to low can cause these kind of issues especially if it is random.

Don't discount that you may have gotten a spool of wire that may be thiner than it should be for stitching that thickness.

    Xerox Versant 280 Scratch Lines?

I would try cleaning all of those rollers.

    Xerox Versant 280 Scratch Lines?

Could very well be that roller because that would cause the same scratches on both sided of the sheet. I wonder what the roller underneath that roller looks like.

    Xerox Versant 280 Scratch Lines?

We used to get similar marks on the 2100 and 3100 which came from a roller at the very end of the print engine. Usually just cleaning them cured the problem. On duplex it would only appear on the top side/side 2. Not sure the 280 has such a roller.

    Versant 280 Registration

And the standard tray alignments in service mode are based and required to use standard 11 x 17 sheets. Because of this I would never let a tech touch the alignment when I was running this level; of printer. I would make the changes myself or tell the tech what values to put in if he was here...

    Envelops with Iridesse?

When you pull out the retarder roller housing you will find a straight black plastic cam that is held in place with a screw that can be moved to three position increasing or decreasing the tension on the retarder rollers.

    Nexfinity vs Iridesse Vs Igen

My feeling is that if Xerox knows your volume and they are willing to lease you 2 Iridesse printers and give you a maintenance contract then they must be pretty confident in the durability. We run an Iridesse and with the volumes your looking at you would probably need to have a tech in every...

    Print problem v180

Since you didn't answer my question and haven't given us a lot of information I will just say if it is on the bottom side if a single sided print then look at the 2ndBTR. If it is the top side and all colors then make sure the ITB cleaner is replaced or cleaned out. Also check the condition of...

Anyone still using a Postscript workflow?

I must have read wrongly into your post that you would have to use postscript with the included RIP. If you don't have to use postscript then don't. The only thought I would have as to why he suggested using it would to possibly have separations (plates/screens) generated as separate files.

Anyone still using a Postscript workflow?

I believe Indesign and Illustrator can still create Postscript, and Acrobat can export a pdf to Postscript.

    Help Diagnosing Print Quality

If there is that much difference with cover weight than yes the fuser or pressure roller needs looked at. A Repeating Defects Page would tell you what to look at.
