It's all cartoonish drawings. No skin tones or color critical area but with the maximum black gcr the colors become way off. If I can convert all blacks to 100% k I should be ok even if there are darker black points than the text. I will be printing sheetfed offset.

I have tried the maximum black generation fix. it works well but as stated in the previous thread it ruins colored areas on the image. they mention a way to overcome this by generating a mask but i don't understand how.

Thank you everyone for your support. desensitizing definitely helped but didn't solve it completely. We had to increase the dampening temperature from 10 degrees celcius to 14. With alcohol it used to be 10.

I think it will be easier to process a job that has been color adjusted for offset to work for flexo, because you can image 1 percent dots consistently. Whereas with non HD imagers you will need a bump curve, and prepress have to get rid of some of the lower % dots... someone correct me if i am...

both machines sound like the holy grail, but not sure how mature the technology is, and if the price is a lot more than heidelberg's XL offset press for example, then it's not worth it.
