    Ricoh or Konica

We've run a lot of BW jobs on our 7210 and 9110's without any issues switching back and forth. It's even really good at switching within a print job. FWIW, I have noticed that the gloss level of the toner is higher on the 7210 than our 9110, which may or may not matter to you.

    Ricoh consumable shortages?

Yeah I came across the same thing earlier today. 8320 toner seemed to be back in stock though.

    Ricoh consumable shortages?

We've got a 7210, x2 9110's, an 8220 and an 8320. I haven't had any issues getting supplies except currently the 8320 toner is on backorder. The main issue I've is getting our reorder levels worked out so that they will actually let me order toner. A good sales rep can take care of that easily...

Getting Black Screen after making edits - Acrobat DC - MacOS

After the latest PitStopPro update that fixed the issue that Acrobat broke, I've been having issues when trying to make edits. Often when editing, my screen will go black and I have to close the file and re-open. Sometimes it will go away for a while if I completely close Acrobat and reopen but...

major black issue with Ricoh 9100

Yeah I'd push back on that. It's definitely a hardware issue. I can't quite remember what causes that but I know it's plagued us as well. I believe it is related to the developer so if it has been changed then the dev unit is where I would start.

    Color issue with Ricoh 9100

You need to adjust the paper transfer current on the lead edge. Under "Advanced Paper Settings" item #s 45 and 46 should be what you need to adjust. I used to have a copy of that bulletin but can't seem to find it. (Might have been stored on a Fiery that crashed a few years ago). Your tech...

    Flawless BW production printer

We currently have 2 Ricohs, an 8320 and 8220. We're looking at replacing the 8220 soon with a VP6000. Can anyone give me more info about the issue with printing on shells? We do a lot of mailing work for other printers so we don't really have any control over how the shells are printed.

    Basic Imposition Software

Yeah, another vote for Quite Imposing. It's a little basic but very powerful. We do have an impose license on our Fiery, so I've used both but prefer Quite Impo.

    FusionPro vs Freeform Create...

I can't see anyone who thinks FP is slow going to Freeform Create. The interface is garbage and is nowhere near as powerful and flexible as FusionPro. I'm with prepressdork, I'm running FP 12.1.0 on a 2013 iMac with a non-SSD drive and 24GB of Ram. I don't really have any issues processing files.

    Ricoh Pro C9100 - J002

Not sure if you're still needing help, but J002 is a feed sensor error for Tray 1. Could just be dirty sensors in either the tray, or the paper path just passed the tray. (Areas A1 & A2)

    Ijetcolor NXT Supplies

I get our ink and supplies from Mailpost Systems. Like most have said, they're all selling the same ink but MPS seemed to have it a little cheaper than Printware.

    Ink Jet Envelope Printer

It is, but it's not as easy and intuitive as Printware's version.

    Ink Jet Envelope Printer

I don't disagree with you about Printware. In fact, I buy my supplies from other vendors because they mark everything up. What I meant by software was their RIP/Printserver software. It is much easier to send and control jobs compared to our RENA Mach5 which didn't really have anything like that.

Starting a shop for political printing

I second what @davarino said. Maybe start out as a broker of sorts and use trade vendors to get started. You could even get a printer but outsource the cutting/folding/tabbing. We are a printshop/mailhouse and do a lot of political mailings. What I'd stress for a printer is to find something...

Quick help needed! Ricoh7200 or KM C4080 thru Dex?

I haven't used a KM color since we ditched our C8000 4 years ago. But if they haven't changed how their sheets register, I'd stay away. The 7200 (and 9200 for that matter) have a great sheet registration system. I'd stick with the Ricoh, especially if you're happy with your current service. As...

    Ink Jet Envelope Printer

Not sure how the NXT compares to other similar printers, but our Rena Mach 5 never had the nozzle clog issues that this thing has. Not sure if it just doesn't wipe it as often or what but it definitely isn't as good.

    Ink Jet Envelope Printer

I totally agree with this. Also, even though it's supposed to run auto wiping cycles, if it sits too long, the nozzles tend to dry out and you have to wipe it down pretty heavily to get a good image out. And sometimes "too long" could be a few hours. One more thing, some stocks, like Classic...

    Ink Jet Envelope Printer

We have had a Rena Mach5 since 2013 or 2014 and have had great results with it. Last year we added an iJetColor NXT (equivalent to Rena Mach 6). There are some things that I don't love about it but quality wise it's pretty great. The only thing with any of the printers that use Memjet heads is...

Ink smearing issues with iJet NXT.

The main reason we went with the iJet over Mach 6 was the software. We had the MColor RIP that we got with the Mach5 but it was difficult to use and we only used it when matching spot colors. When printing directly we would sometimes have color issues but the main issue was when we needed to...

Ink smearing issues with iJet NXT.

Thank you for your reply but I'm not sure you can help. But to answer your question, the smearing does seem to come from the wheels that are right after the printhead.
