I used to run 350gsm on my OKI C9650 before I upgraded to Xerox, but the drums really took a battering. With new drums, prints were good, with very good registration, but print quality was unsellable by the time the drums were 30% through their life.

From my experience, all toner based machines can give problems with letterheads, but KM's and Ricoh's give less problems. All my current Xerox's are no good (DC250, DC12, DC5252)

Agreed. We have the same problem on our DC5252. It gets worse as the drums get older, but on the whole we just have to put up with it. I do find it is worse on our DC5252 than our DC250.

Also think about the finishing equipment you will need to go with it. At the very least you will need some form of guillotine/cutter. Many leaflets will need to be printed with bleed, and there isn't a single laser printer out there than can print to the edge of a sheet, so being able to cut...

Never having had a Heidey, I'm probably not best placed to help, but I have owned a few AB Dicks with T heads and solids were our main problems. We used to outsource some jobs to a local college as they had a Heidelberg single colour which could knock spots off our AB Dicks for solids.

The colorcube quality is not as good as a toner based machine. It basically sprays wax onto the page which can look a bit like the old inkjet prints. Also, from what I have seen from samples, the wax can scratch off relatively easily, especially on thicker cards. They are fine for an office...
