File download / Preflight / Imposition

Hi All, I used to have a cracking system from Esko, connected to a website I owned. That would pull down the PDF's / run some preflight against some associated XML data / and change the website status to 'in production' or 'artwork rejected' and report the file errors back to the client for...

    Toner Plan Printers

Thanks for the heads up, yes! I remember them, KIP!! The application is for Decoupage on furniture, for crafters. They prefer the finish from a toner system, you get a much better-defined print. Then the print is varnished to give it some longevity. Just doing some prints for a local crafter...

    Online design assets?

Hi folks, this might not be the best place for this, you're welcome to move it to another group if needed. So, we've all seen the rise and rise of Canva! And I'm currently doing some work for a printing company in the UK, creating a bunch of templates for their website. I have a distant...

    Toner Plan Printers

Hi All, I have an application in mind, customer needs prints (wide format) so up to A1 maybe A0 size. But, the prints need to be a Toner Based print, rather than inkjet. I have memories of these bits of kit been pretty popular a years back, they were toner based wide format machines, super...

Fiery Keeps Disconnecting - Do I really need a fiery?

A little update on the kit, all is good, no more disconnecting, although, I can't help but whince a little as I type this :-) It was just some network issues, with my slightly overcomplicated setup here. The fiery has been really stable, and I'm chuffed to bits with the kit so far. Thanks for...

    Text editing request, online design

Morning All, I hope it's ok to share this An editor that can do this? Thats a really quick video link, showing a very specific text editing request for a Paragraph Text Field, I've not seen many online design tools that can do this. This video is recorded from Vistas website, who have a really...

Anything new in web to print?

Hi Folks, I've been using PitchPrint, hooked into Wordpress, I've built a solid website using the system. Pitch has its limitations, but they have a tonne of positives, so I'm not knocking their system at all. I just wondered if anyone had seen some good options for Online Design at Drupa? I...

Fiery Keeps Disconnecting - Do I really need a fiery?

I'll persevere then :-) - Thanks for the advice. I got 1 sheet out this morning. Then, a strange error on the printer itself. For some reason, when I send a PDF into the processing and hold Q, it just processes, and doesn't ever finish. A file that I dropped into the Q last night, was available...

Fiery Keeps Disconnecting - Do I really need a fiery?

It seems to be the RIP disconnecting from the printer. The Icon disappears, and then CW disconnects Thanks in advance Tim

Fiery Keeps Disconnecting - Do I really need a fiery?

Thanks, I'm a second user so i'm not 100% where the RIP support is coming from. We've had a technician in last week, and he was here yesterday.

Fiery Keeps Disconnecting - Do I really need a fiery?

I managed to get one sheet off just now. which it wouldn't do last night. When I print a job into CW, it just holds in processing, and when I go 'properties' it says there is no media, 'do I want to set as unassigned' so maybe the CW isn't configured properly. I've simplified my networking...

Fiery Keeps Disconnecting - Do I really need a fiery?

Hi folks, I've just put a 'new to me' Ricoh Pro C520' in, I'm chuffed to bits with the quality. But, I've managed to get the sum total of around 6 SRA3 sheets out the machine. The technician just came back today, the Fiery Rip keeps disconnecting, and dropping off the machine. Command...

Epson AM-C Range , any feedback?

Hmm, thats pretty mad re: the warranty. I wonder if its a tactic to make sure everyone stays on a service (fixed ink click) plan. I'll have to have a test of some regular digi coated stocks on the machine, I'm really doubtful the ink would take, but always the optimist :)

Hi Folks, I wondered if anyone had any feedback, or experience using this range... WorkForce Enterprise AM-C4000 | Business Inkjet | Inkjet Printers | Printers | Products | Epson United Kingdom I have an application that would suit this well, but as far as I can see, I can only print onto...

    Options for coating?

Thanks for all the suggestions folks. I've switched stocks to get things to set a little better, and avoid the coating. It did cross my mind if rigging up some kind of jig to apply a thin roller layer of litho sealer :-) Thats one for a later date Thanks again. Tim

    Options for coating?

Hi All, Was hoping someone could share some ideas. I'm trying to see if there is a way I can apply a varnish to the sheets I'm printing. They need a bit of protection from general scuffing. In days gone by, I'd run the sheets through the litho press, laying down a clear varnish on the 5th...

Any ideas? (extract images from PDF, run image enhancements, then replace back into PDF)

Thanks for the suggestions folks, I've just been going back through some of my posts to update what software I've found fits nicely into my workflow.
