This is more of a rant than anything. Unfortunately, I just found out the hard (and expensive) way that Quark 8's Press Quality PDF export setting uses JPG Low Quality Compression by default. Way to go, Quark.

Finally resolved this issue. Seems it has to do with the Color Libraries. The Photoshop file was created in CS6 and placed in InDesign CS4. Originally the Spot color was spec'd from the Pantone + color library (which I have in both CS4 and CS6). I then spec'd the color from the Pantone library...

Thanks, Rich. I ran your profile and, unfortunately, I get the same results that I get with mine existing profile. It flags every crop mark, and every us of 0/0/0/100 text. See screen-shot. I can't seem to find a way for the profile to ignore these elements and focus on art objects, instead.

I have been unable to create a preflight profile, in Acrobat, that flags 4/c art (Raster or Vector). All my attempts end up flagging every page's registration marks and all text that was set to 0/0/0/100. Any suggestions?

In Flash CS4 you had the option of Exporting a frame to Illustrator. That option is gone from Flash CS6. Anyone know why, or what the workaround is? The Illustrator option looks to have been replaced by FXG. It worked so well, why remove it! Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm not actually the printer, I work for the publisher and, in this case, I am merely passing the file along. The artwork is retro comic style with solid shapes and fills. I've talked with the printer and they state they will use a Dense Black Ink with a double hit.

I'm working with an illustrator who is asking that their poster art be printed with 4 Pantone Goe inks along with a "dense black". Is Dense Black or High Density Black an actual ink used or is it just process black run at a higher density or perhaps a double-hit. Thanks in advance.
