Xerox Versant 280 - Match CMYK to previously printed sheets

What I meant was, default CMYK Values within Spot On. For example: Pantone 548 C Spot On default = 100C, 0M, 26Y, 80.5K Pantone Color Bridge = 100C, 21M, 28Y, 76K As a starting point for Spot On, I will use the Pantone Color Bridge CMYK breakdown and go from there because the Spot On default is...

Xerox Versant 280 - Match CMYK to previously printed sheets

EdwardB & Wonderings. Thank you so so much for all your efforts!!!!!!! You've both made it sound so easy and I'm sure a training course wouldn't have made it as idiot proof as you've both done. Regarding Pantone to CMYK on My Xerox Versant 280, there's so many variations in CMYK breakdowns in...

Xerox Versant 280 - Match CMYK to previously printed sheets

Thank for your all this information. Attached are examples of the artwork. I've been using Command workstation for some time but never had any training except when it was initially installed and everything was done at 100 miles an hour, so nothing was taken in!!! I like the idea of using...

Xerox Versant 280 - Match CMYK to previously printed sheets

Just a heads up — I’m not very experienced with getting the most out of my EFI ES-2000 spectrophotometer, so I’m wondering if there’s a better way to approach this. I print 10 different package cartons on my Xerox Versant 280. Each SRA3 sheet contains 2–3 solid (flat) colours that repeat across...

Xerox Versant 280 - CMYK registration on long sheet

Thanks for the tip...I've done a few tests which include printing onto a lower gsm sheet. I tried a 250gsm Silk and it's registered perfectly at both ends. I think you're right in that the folding box board is too thick. I've found a workaround which has helped. I printed the 380gsm FBB as a...

Xerox Versant 280 - CMYK registration on long sheet

Using my Xerox Versant 280, I'm printed a carton pack on a 380gsm Folding Box Board, sheet size 640mm x 320mm using my vacuum fed long sheet option. I'm having a registration problem where the CMYK is perfect at the feeding end of the sheet but by the trailing end its out of fit (see pics). I've...

Toner Foiling Problem on Soft Touch Laminate - How to get rid of foil spots

Yes, too much static. Coming back to this post (5 years later), not sure if anyone here is still digital foiing!!! I'm still digital foiling on my Xerox Versant 280 and Vivid Matrix. I now use the Derprosa brand of laminates (soft touch & anti scuff) on a very low heat, slow speed and maximum...

Print Finishing Engineers in/near North London

Hi Simon, I was using someone who has now unfortunately retired. We don't use the booklet maker that often as we lost the contract it was mainly being used for. It's still going strong but we'll probably carry on using it until it dies.

Does anyone use AI within the Print Industry

These are the headlines I keep on reading. I understand the bit about design automation but I'd like to see case studies to follow up other ideas

    Versant ‘Overkill’ Toner Boxes

Yes, I've had these as well and because they're longer, they don't fit horizontally in the Eco Box either. They use up more space when packing them vertically meaning more Eco boxes / pickups required!!!

Does anyone use AI within the Print Industry

So the next question is, Who's feeding the AI and telling it 'this is the one and only answer'?

Does anyone use AI within the Print Industry

Apart from using AI within design, does anyone use it anywhere else? I run a digital print workshop using a Xerox Versant 280 & Fiery Command Workstation for digital print, Duplo PFiBlade for flatbed cutting and Vivid Laminator/Foiler as well as other finishing machinery. The only piece of AI...

Duplo PFi Blade B3+ Conveyor Belt Fix

The join on our PFi Blade B3+ conveyor belt is starting to fray and come apart (see pic attached). Has anyone managed to re-join this part successfully themselves. I tried using webbing tape but that doesn't hold very well. I need to use some glue and fabric tape but I'm not sure which one...

Xerox Versant 80 Maintenance... How difficult is it?

We were also forced into getting rid of our V80 and now have a V280 with long sheet feeder (up to 1200mm long) which uses the same parts but the click rate has reduced from 4.5p to 2p which we had taken into consideration. Regarding your creases, I've had a similar problem with lighter materials...

How to stop/minimise pages falling out of a book

I've never tried scoring & stitching synthetic paper before. Is it better than paper and is it robust enough to withstand multiple opening and closing each day. I'll order samples and give it a test.

How to stop/minimise pages falling out of a book

Thanks for this. This is exactly what I was thinking about as an alternative. If the text pages are torn, frayed or out of date at least they can be replaced with spares.
