I have a few ideas. But too keep it short and-you are concerned download a program Called Qimage. It is a refractoring program. Enlarges images without losing quality. Set up the size you want choose image and print to file. It will enlarge the files say to 300 dpi. Works good

Have KM 6501 all depends on the eye of the beholder. I think the KM does a good job of not having that shiny look as long as you have the right paper selected and gloss mode is turned off. Tested Xerox thought it had the shiny look. Don't know about Ricoh

I've had two KM first with Firey second Creo. Both good the Creo comes with everything you'll need fiery has add on's graph arts package etc. So ends up costing more. If color does not have to be perfect go with internal rip and save some money.

You will have issues with transparencies if your file is using spot colors. Say If you have a background then have text on top in spot color with an effect say drop shadow you will get a funny box showing. Just change spot to cymk and that fixes it.

What rip do you have? What rip do you have? This is tuff a lot of variables. Calibrate your monitor could be one thing. Sending files as rgb or cymk could be another. RIP settings yet another. Not enough info to give good answer. Talk to your tech.
