Packedge is much like Illustrator. 1st, dont ungroup! 2nd copy everything to a new layer and start removing what you don't want until you end up with exactly what you need. At the end compare the original with what you have created to ensure you didn't miss anything. Took me 5-10 min.

A screen capture captures whats displayed on the screen but it doesn't capture what I see on on the screen. Only a photo can do that. The example I provided is the exact same picture. The one on the left was captured with my phone, the one on the right is a screen capture of the same picture..

Most label converters do their trapping with illustrator plugins from esko, PackSharp etc or with standalone editors like Artpro or Packedge and not in the RIP. Simply because the result isn't good enough otherwise.

You can't match Pantone with CMYK. What you should look for is a 6-7 colour press. CMYK +Green, Blue & Orange. Its called "Extended Gamut". Google that and you will find a lot of information.

Not an normailzed PDF I'm afraid. But an normal PDF from ID isn't any problem.

One simple but still quite useful script is to automate pdf creation from Indesign etc..
