Have you tried opening a door and closing it (as if you're clearing a jam)? I've noticed this often resets something on other printers I've used.

It's the punch. Those GBC punches are terrible. I've used them on multiple machines in the last 15 years and they always jam and mispunch.

I'm not sure what they're called, but we had them when I worked at Kinko's forever ago. This might do the job though.
