    drop shadow on Igen 4

We're having a similar issue on Xerox platforms, and assumed it was related to the DocuSP front end.

    Digital Proofreading

We've also looked at the Global Vision software - pretty impressive stuff. On the human sid of proofing, I worked for a different firm a few years ago where our plate guys were the last line of defense as far as proofing went. We had our single page proofs, and our Sherpa layouts checked, then...

Any advantage to a .PS workflow?

To speak to the original question, the only reason we maintain postscript files in our workflow is to allow tray calls for jobs being produced on the DocuColor 8000's. Once the file is distilled, that tray info is lost.

I know that Nexus will integrate with Backstage - I haven't used it myself, but I have contacts who are very happy with it. Esko's page on it is here: Nexus RIP - EskoArtwork

Change color of scanned file in PDF.

We use a Pitstop Action I made called "All black to real black" to convert any RGB/CMYK blacks to 100% K (grayscale) based on a color range - if it's dark enough to image as black, it's converted to full black. Re: De-Imposition Unfortunately, it's not a matter of asking a customer, as these are existing files that are being updated or repurposed. They're items that worked fine the last go 'round that are having new pages added or deleted, and the single page version of the file doesn't really exist...

    De-Imposition

Re: De-Imposition I guess I should have been more specific - we're working for the most part in Windows, and consider ourselves lucky to get to work in InDesign! Regardless, i'll give the Zervix plug-in a shot as we do have several Macs. I've also downloaded the demo of Ultimate's Proof and...

    De-Imposition

Does anyone have any recommendation for automating the de-imposition of PDF files? We regularly get PDFs in printer's spreads that are either done incorrectly or require that additional pages be added so that the spreads need to be broken out into single pages and re-imposed (pretty free and...
