CS4 Export Adobe PDF has some standard options grayed out?

No problem. I thought'd I'd cause a fuss to all the users who wanted to help on here if I didn't post the answer. We are mainly looking into this to handle the glyphs issue with IDCS4 that you posted in another thread, seeing as that may be the best solution for us now. Keep running into new...

CS4 Export Adobe PDF has some standard options grayed out?

Problem solved. Some of the machines had color management turned off, so it didn't allow for those standards to be used.

CS4 Export Adobe PDF has some standard options grayed out?

We are preparing to change all our pdf export presets in InDesign CS4 to the pdf/x-4 standard. On a couple of our machines, some of the standards are greyed out, both x-3's and the x-4. Even if you choose the preset of the pdf/x-4:2008, the standard defaults to "none" on these machines. It's...

Memory leak or font problem in Acrobat 9

So are any of these font settings the one I should play with to either pass or fail each of these files attached? After a quick check, I get the same results in Acrobat 8.1. Anyone else see differently? And when I do learn of the check, I will need to transfer this profile to pdfInpektor to...

Memory leak or font problem in Acrobat 9

so are we concluding that the adobe products are "correct" and working the way they are supposed to? i still don't understand how a quark pdf which exported to pdf correctly in cs3, views correctly and rips fine has now been "fixed" to view and rip incorrectly, and that we simply either have to...

    Metrix by LithoTechnics

i was researching metrix earlier in the year and loved what i saw. we do a ton of ganging of various sized flats. what delayed our purchase was speaking to a kodak rep, and how they had planned on releasing their own ganging software. after a few releases preps ganging shows more promise, but...

Memory leak or font problem in Acrobat 9

we also have been dealing with this issue the last few weeks since we last upgraded a few boxes to cs4. this is a cs4 indesign issue! we seem to have it narrowed down to quark pdf's placed in indesign cs4. we've had varying font issues ranging from boxes, to garbage, to simply dropping out. we...

Lean vs. TQM, BPR, TOC, Six Sigma, Etc.

Without a constancy of purpose towards continuous improvement by the workers within the company, then Lean as well as any other quality management method will only become a fad. There are many companies that are successful due to the implemention of previously said methods, but there are many...

Acrobat 8 and Prinergy Evo Plug-ins

A bit off topic... I'm using Prinergy Connect and Acrobat 8. When I use trap editor, the PDF shrinks to a smaller version like usual. If you happen to close this document before closing trap editor however, the next PDFs I open are defaulting to that small size. Quite annoying as is did not do...

Oh, Keif and Macro were my professors at Poly. Glad to hear they're pushing Lean. When I attended it was a heavy emphasis on Deming's Total Quality Management, another quality system I really think highly of.

Spoilage definition, ratio w/ sales, and what can be an "expected" amount

Re: Spoilage definition, ratio w/ sales, and what can be an "expected" amount Process improvement is a great direction to go. Good luck with all that. There are already great examples in this thread with 5S and TPS/lean. Also, thanks for the find Gordon. I will try and look for more...

Re: Spoilage definition, ratio w/ sales, and what can be an "expected" amount I have also been tasked this same thing. I feel like it's leading absolutely no where. Is there maybe a survey around? Does anyone want to share theirs? I am currently searching for average paper waste percentage for...
