Never been published, even for AGFA servicemen. (((

Agfa Exposure test - shadow on film

Quite possible, but mostly looks like film's wave on the drum surface

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

    Correct!

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

Please DO NOT sacrifice optical density in favor of Dot percentage. Use Calibrating SW instead and keep 3.6-3.8 D at solid area

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

Let's talk about positive image exposure and you will understand a principle of Accuset internal test file. 255 is MAXIMUM exposure level of Accuset and never been used in normal circumstances.

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

First of all find a line with +D around 3.6-3.8. Accuset was unable to get 4.0 Then check 50% how far you are

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

Please run internal density test directly from Accuset

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

It looks for me you have some sort of Laser Driver Module problem. You told us first job/plate looks good. May be after warming up of Accuset you have incorrect laser modulation. Please check coaxial RF cable connectors for good contact

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

Did you "zeroing" densitometer before reading?

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

    Your chemistry is perfect BTW.

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

And what a density on 100% square exposed by Accuset?

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

I need to know actual optical density (D mode) not a percentage (DOT % mode)

    AGFA AccuSet 1000 density issue

First of all, check the density on daylight exposed piece of film to find a culprit: Accuset or film processor.

    Dec board Avantra 44s

My post above was a little brief as well. Not only chips replacement, but reprogramming the board because one of chips is soldered on-board. I want to know the problem of Avantra forcing you to purchase new DEC board.

    Dec board Avantra 44s

That board for Galileo CTP, so all logic to manage machine is different. You have to replace almost all chips from sockets on all board and place them on the new one.

    code error 13 and 165

AGFA does not support Avantras anymore. To avoid error 13 - remove and inspect safety switch installed on the Avantra's frame. It it damaged - make a short cut between two wires to put 24V DC via safety line. Error 165 -Inspect Digital Encoder small wheel touches the rail properly. Just look...

Anyone heard of retired AGFA technician named Ed Quinlan works on Avantras?

Hi Duane, If you have problem with Avantra, I could help you as well. I've seen Eddy last time at AGFA HQ in 2005 on Advantage training, yeah... many years passed.

Accuset 1000 plus - Service Manual / Advice on shipping

I think shipping bracket for Take-Up Motor has been lost, but use some plastic foam to put it under Take-Up Motor platen and use tie-wraps to keep Tensioner Arms closed and out of vibration. That's all you need to move the Accuset by truck.

    Agfa Galileo

AGFA has never released Installation Manual, meaning AGFA trained servicemen should do that job.

DPM 2340 Scratches on Plates - Can't figure it out.

You have to inspect the whole plate track from the Imagesetter to Processor. Dried activator on some places (after splashes) works like sand particles. Wet rug plus water should help you.
