    heidelberg impression cylinder jacket replacement

GTo your question about the heidelberg or another brand one, get the heidelberg jacket. While I cannot speak for all other makes, my employer saved some money on buying a cheaper one and it did not last as long. I recall chaning it again about 3 years later as the coating was missing in places.

Need some help from the offset press experts...

Have you examined your environment as a whole? Its all very well to attempt to isolate who is responsible for what, however often you get an obstructive response if there are other problems. What I mean is, its always so easy to blame the press operator. It is also very easy to fly in and...

    Lighting For Press Console

Ask Heidelberg, they have a recommended part that accompanies the press. We use "daylight equivalent" bulbs that are white, if not a tiny bit blueieh. I think they measure up to 5000k, which is the standard. Although i could be wrong on that.

    Sad 2 Say

I cant understand why you would direct customers any where near the internet as part of a sales pitch. It makes no sense whatsoever. Your also putting too much faith in the "truth" which can often be a matter of perception, depending on where you are at any given moment. Same as an opinion...

    The Lean Process

Lean isnt really anything new is it. Just a catch word or the "new phrase" that people get all excited about and banter on with. Soon there will be a new one, that front of house people will be tossing off about, changing systems and making pressroom tasks change yet again. Or - as always...

    Scumming at Lead Edge Corners...

Have you tried water wetter. I think it was silvermaster water wetter or AB Dick. Sorry Can't remember. It can work on other plate types as well when experiencing gradual toning/buildup issues. I had an issue with a new CTP installation and made it manageable by testing out some old chemicals...

    Blanket deglazing

I use this stuff. Use it on rollers, blankets, washup blades, everything. Doesnt smell, is super economical ina tube (only use a little or lot) and works. Washes up cleanly too with little effort so no issues on following print...

    Help gatering makeready data, please

I don't tune on the fly anymore, some customers have become very pedantic. So a normal 4 colour job will be around 200-250 sheets. Sometimes backed up as well before i start. That way i am within .1 either way on the denso. That way I have tuned out the larger/quicker variations and can catch...

    Spray powder problems when laminating

I have had this problem before after printing jobs and the bindery has had issues. Firstly make sure the press is set up well, allowing you to use the absolute minimum. Damper settings are important, running as low water as possible. Our old design department was a problem problem, asking...

Opinion wanted. Is this ethical/legal conduct?

Yes there are rules. Consumer protection and the contract they signed. No you cannot remove electricity unless you are an electricity company or their authorised reseller. Anyone else is illegally tampering. No you cannot hack into their computers; this would be an offence against cyber crime...

    Spots in K

He could be preventing this error from repeating but overcompensating due to angry managers or other masters of the universe. What powder are you using? what is the micron size? Try printing a black dry solid with the current powder levels and drop them back until there is a very light but...

    pull out sheets

Assuming your not trying to explain it to a blind person, cant you just show them on a 4cp job? show them the 2nd to last sheet before stop and then the first 3? The difference should be noticeable in the heavier areas. Then explain its a mechanical process they cant possibly understand and...

    Shinohara 52 dampening problems

If your rollers are the correct size and shore, and set correctly (i use a 4mm stripe, 5 is ok) Then it will be in the computer settings. If its only happening on one unit watch its metering roller to see its not spinning faster than the others, or if the speed compensation profile hasnt been...

    envelope printing...

Im looking at some options to creat some really decent envelopes. All input much appreciated! Firstly, presses. I have run many millions on a four colour GTO over the years and had enough of that. and its now far too slow. Is there a digital press that can handle DL, C4 and C5 envelopes, and...

    Retirement

^^ so what your saying is you will arrange advertising, of an undisclosed run, to an untargeted demographic, and take a cut for passing the work on to the printer next door? Can i put an ad for "ow my asteroid" intergalactic pile cream on the back of a t.v flyer? More seriously there are...

    washup question...

With water miscible wash, some pressmen prefer to pre mix solution and water in the bottle, and washup this way on one go. I prefer to use 100% solvent until the ink is gone, and then finish up with solution and a squirt of water, maybe repeat. I cant say for sure but i do beleive calcium...

Picture Framing ... as per ink content

My theory is some inks hold out against water better than others, and therefore dont show this problem as much.
