CMYK ICC Profile & DeviceLink Profile Service Cost

Thanks Louis. For ICC profile, either would be helpful, whether it’s from one set of charts, or “refined” with multiple averaged and or smoothed readings across multiple charts. For DVL, it would just be standard industry specifications from freely available data sets, such as Fogra39 to Fogra52.

CMYK ICC Profile & DeviceLink Profile Service Cost

I’m looking for common ballpark costs of: 1) CMYK ICC Profile creation as a service, per profile (press, inkjet proofing etc) 2) CMYK to CMYK DeviceLink profile service, per profile (standard press condition repurposing) Please state the currency for clarity (Euro, USD etc). Any other...

    Does My Pricing Seem High?

So around $8.27 per sign for material only. So, for 26 signs, the material costs alone are $215 out of your sell price of $540. Leaving labour (printing time, mounting and other finishing time, packing time etc.) and outwork delivery fees. I can only comment on our Accura360 MIS, where we...

    Does My Pricing Seem High?

Before you add any markup, ask what the cost of materials, labour, and outwork/outsourcing is. You should know your costs! This is my perspective, based on training and supporting customers on the Accura360 MIS, which is a cost+plus-based system (although this can be overridden). This naturally...

I wouldn't expect CSV input to a DFE/RIP. It would more likely be XML, JDF, or JSON.

    Detecting areas of fine detail

If you were OK with rasterizing the file in Photoshop for preview purposes, then it's easy to create an action to visually show detail at a given pixel size that is considered too small. Here is a simplified animated example, however, with other content it might prove to be more challenging:

How to compensate for the color shift of Matte lamination?

Inkjet ink has many variations: aqueous pigment or dye, eco-solvent, UV, latex/resin so there are many variables.

How to compensate for the color shift of Matte lamination?

The laminated result can be profiled and used in a conversion: What is a finishing proof? Fogra49 and Fogra50 in detail. | proof.de

    Excessive revisions and proofs

I encourage our Accura MIS users to add a variable to their proof email template, which automatically includes the version number of the proof. This way both parties know that they are on Proof Version: 99 of the "print ready" artwork that should have been good to go on the first proof!

    The Re-quote Process

Is the job still profitable, even at $400 less? Less than what? $400 less than cost? $400 less in profit, i.e. the job is being sold at cost for no profit? Forgetting labour costs for the staff with nothing to do for the moment, there is still the cost of substrate, ink, packing materials etc.
