    Makeready Time

    UV ink misting

Looking for some incite on UV ink misting. Our yellow units mist pretty bad..it looks like the are smoking. None of the other colors are misting. UV varnish

More cost with UV..you would need to run UV inks and have lights in the units also. UV inks are twice as expensive as conventional and you can't UV over conventional unless you Aquas coat it first. Dry trap the Varnish or use Kentucky Shine.

MAN ROLAND 300 / tail wrinkles / distortion

Again, turn all air blast off or to min. Through the press the air blast will blow the tail end right before it goes into the next unit. All IM. press cylinder air blast off will solve the problem.

Best Press in your opinion ?

Can only comment on Man Roland and KBA. From a pressman..no one beats the Man Roland in make ready speed if you are running small runs. KBA is a horse and is a king at runs over 50k..it feeds great and delivers 60# offset like a dream. I can not comment on Kamori or Berg, but would like to run both.

    Bio Ink(Soy based)

Thanks Jben..very good stuff. No we are not testing the ink we switched full board. We switched to the lower VOC ink because of a few Gas Ghosting jobs we have problems with during the year. Honest, with the other ink most of the Gas Ghosting problems we had were because of the head pressman...

    Bio Ink(Soy based)

Switched to Bio Ink recently. Anyone having luck running this Ink? I run a Man Roland 700(1997). Recommended by our Etch supplier, we are running Etch at 2.75% and a Sub at 1%. We are still running with the same water forms as we did with the conventional ink. I'm having to run my water form...
