    Error Message on NL628 Komori

Fine side guide adjustment on this machine is done on the computer today. I received an error message E010 and the side guide quit moving. I was able to shut down the machine and restart and I was able to remove the side guide again. Does any one know what this error message means? I cannot seem...

    Horizontal streaking

Kaoticor, A couple of suggestions here. One- change your plate to an 8mil. and put a .004 packing in. It will not fix your streaking problem but you will print a much better dot. Metal to metal prints like crap. Two- Have your two "G" rollers and your "I" roller recovered with a rough grind...

Kaoticor, I almost forgot who started this thread. Could you describe this streaking in a little more detail? Also what year is your press and could you describe your water system to me? John

    Komori picture framing

Clive, Thanks for your reply. Firstly yes "Picture Framing" Excessive ink build up outside of the sheet. Not a problem unless you have a run over 10,000 imps. then things can get a bit messy. As far as lateral movement in any of the form rollers their is absolutely none. When I install a new...

    Feeder Question

You need to replace the pick-up and forwarding suckers. The pick up suckers are a no brainer, the forwarding suckers are a bit more involved. You should rebuild the whole pick up assembly. Look in your parts book. You need the stoppers, piston, spring, bushing, and both suckers. Keep in mind...

    Feeder Question

It does not matter how well you maintain your head. They just wear out just like tires on your car. I believe the press will run best if the head is rebuilt about every 20 million imps. It is not very difficult to do and it does not cost that much. Especially when compared to all the trip offs...

    Feeder Question

Now that we know what press you have here is a couple of thoughts. 1. When was the last time you rebuilt your feeder head? 2. Are you sure your feeder pump is large enough? I say this because around 1989 and 1990 Komori used a pump a bit too small, I am assuming simply to fit it under the catwalk.

Turbotom, I have been having the same problems for almost 3 years. I am running LHPJ plates. I have not been able to solve the problem, but am interested in seeing if you do. Please post any positive results you may come up with. Thanks John

    Komori picture framing

FujiFrank, Thank you very much for your reply. As you may have read I am running a very high tact ink. I think you may be on to something here and will try an experiment with my current ink at a 10% tans wht. added. Job's do seem to be worse with less coverage. I have changed the ratios and...

    Fuji LHP-J plate blinding problem

We are also running Fuji LHP-J plates and are having problems on two different presses both run different inks and fountain solution. I think we have a different problem than yours though. Our plates will show a faint image on the plate outside of the sheet size at about 30 to 50 thousand, it...

    Ink Build-up on Chrome Dampeners

I agree with Lennyr. Clean the roller with a good chrome roller cleaner and the follow up with a vinegar water rinse with every single wash up.

    Spray powder bombs-40" Komori

GazKL440, In the 200 series Komories there is a bar connecting the two sprockets that drive the delivery lowering. The bar is very close the the electostatic sprayer, it builds up powder very fast. When the pile drops down it is not like the smooth movement of a rollex watch the eye sees it and...

    Scumming at Lead Edge Corners...

You say the fountain solution is kept at 60F. Is that in the tanks or in the tray? I find my water in the tray is about 5 degrees warmer than in the tank, yours could be even warmer than that. I don't think you want your FS that hot.

    Komori picture framing

MacTwidget, Picture framing is simply the ink buildup outside of the sheet on the blanket. It is a normal happening and usually of no concern. When it is of concern is when it builds up too fast and can contaminate the plate or build up on the impression cylinder and begin to sling ink onto the...

    Komori picture framing

Dan, I 100% agree with you on both the roller settings and the cylinder packing. On this particular press Komori wants me to pack the plate to .006 over and the blanket to .002 under. They were adamant about it. After several months of fighting picture framing problems I finally said the hell...
