    LED UV input

As far as configuration goes you don't necessarily have to add extra LED lamps to do many different things. For example.... we generally perfect 4/4 or 5/5 and this would be 90% of our work. For this we have LED lamp after the perfector and one in the delivery. We get the odd job where we are...

    LED UV input

We would never go with any other supplier for LED. If you look back these guys are the ones that pioneered LED in the printing world. The company is very well run, the start-up is painless and teh systems do exactly what they say they will. The only con is that it is expensive technology. We...

    LED UV input

We have done 3 LED UV conversions in our plant. Actually we were approximately the 3rd conversion in North America back in 2012 so we have a lot of experience with LED. In terms of configuration the possibilities are endless, it really depends what work you do. Ours were purchased from AMS,. all...

    UV LED Technology Awakening

Yes, we are one of the early adopters in North America I believe we were the 3rd company to implement an AMS LED system and the first to convert 2 long perfectors. The main advantages over UV is far less power usage, no heat generated into the substrate so LED is not as prone to cracking...

Edge chipping on perfect bound books

We print this small coupon book every year and always get edge chipping on the spine of the covers C1S 10pt. The job is run as double digest and the covers are printed on our HP Indigo. The knives on the binder were changed out before starting the job so they were nice and sharp. 2 years ago was...

    Dull UV Coating

I have been told, but have not tried, that warming up the coating will make it lay smoother as it the warmer temp. helps it level before getting cured. No promises though.

    Stock counts???

Thanks for the replies, is there such a thing as a pallet jack with a scale built in?

    Stock counts???

Any suggestions on how to get more accurate sheet counts to press. I have been working at the same shop for 21 years and our prepress cutting has always struggled with giving accurate counts to press. They have a chart that tells them how many sheets per inch eg. 100lb gloss = 210 per inch...

    Blade pitch???

Has anyone ever played around with the pitch of the blade on the guillotine cutter? I'm just wondering if the pitch would have any effect on the transfer of dry ink where the blade cuts through a bleed and transfers it to the backside of the sheet? Thanks in advance,

    G7 question???

What would be considered acceptable in terms of how much the Indigo drifts from day to day? For e.g.. I'm seeing on the 50-40-40 patch a delta E of 2.09 one day and 4.29 the next day which is quite obvious to the eye. I know that the digital devices do drift, just not sure what is considered...

    G7 question???

Our Indigo is a new 7600 which is supposed to do a calibration run automatically daily. When I look in Oris I notice that on all 54 patches the L* is about 2-3 points lower for the Indigo than the press. Wouldn't that be why the indigo seems to print with more weight?

    G7 question???

Ok, I verified the NPDC on the press and they are very good in Color Path Sync. I believe its the Indigo thats printing a little heavy. How often should the Indigo be re-profiled?

    G7 question???

I'm using the Idealliance 54 patch control strip and both machines get a pass in Oris except for the Delta H on mag. for the press. Color wise they match very well its just the the indigo seems to have more weight to it. The NPD's are very good for both devices??? As suggested I will put a...

    G7 question???

The curves that I created through Color Path Sync for our offset press matches our Indigo proof, but is a little on the washed out side compared to the indigo. I think its printing too sharp. How should I handle this? Should I evenly increase the dot at all curve points to increase the TVI? The...
