Are Some PMS Colors Easier To Hit Than Others?

Would that make the switch to 400 an easier target to hit? It is the customer that is choosing the colors. It is us who are saying that the absence of yellow will make it easier. 1) I believe both have yellow within. Not sure. 2) I do not understand how one would be "easier" if there should be...

Are Some PMS Colors Easier To Hit Than Others?

Thanks for the feedback Steve, What you mentioned in your reply makes sense. And even though I am not well-versed in this part of the process, I can grasp what you mean. And you have put my thoughts and guesses into words. I just wanted to make sure that I understood what was happening a bit...

Are Some PMS Colors Easier To Hit Than Others?

Also, I am unsure of the color shift because I don't have exact numbers and documentation readily available. From the visual review, it is not noticeable per print. Only when I saw each printout sample side-by-side and wondered why they didn't match. That's when I found out each of the...

Are Some PMS Colors Easier To Hit Than Others?

Are you are printing spot colors (Pantone) or CMYK process builds, simulations of them? Spot If spot, are they just solids or do they contain screen tint dots? Solids. How much of a color shift was there between press runs (dE)? Unsure on this. Were jobs exact reprints or similar graphics...

Are Some PMS Colors Easier To Hit Than Others?

Let me first preference by saying I don't have all the nomenclature and vocabulary for inks down. Also, I work in Flexo so some terminology might differ. We currently have a customer that had designs printed. On each print, there was a color shift. The prints were all within a few days of each...

    Low Spots or Skip Outs

The only thing we could see that ended up being the solution to this issue; was to ensure that when the backing substrate was being laid out, to ensure it does not bubble or crease. As I watched our platemaker perform their duties, I saw that they would place the substrate in the carriage but...

    Low Spots or Skip Outs

To add to this. I have reviewed how the plates were made and the process of the platemaker. The only thing I can see, that might have been an issue with their process is when the plate backing is lied down with the liquid resin in between. There may have been points in which the backing was not...

    Low Spots or Skip Outs

Thanks for the feedback. These are on substrate. I will have to investigate if this is in the same location when it does happen. Thanks for the info on 6 & 7, as well as the rest.

    Low Spots or Skip Outs

Good Day, We are a flexo print facility and have been having some low spot issues recently. We have liquid pour plates and a WH Press. I have put a question out to my vendor for assistance but figured I'd double-down and head to the forums for confirmation. In the attached images you can see the...

Flexo Capping Resin Improvement v. Cost

Thanks. This does offer more insight.

Flexo Capping Resin Improvement v. Cost

Right on! Thanks again. My apologies for not clarifying the first go-round. But we still got to the goal of putting my mind at ease. Agreed, getting the process down is better than getting the fancy-schmancy broad brush to make things "better". Once we know our process is correct, then we can...

Flexo Capping Resin Improvement v. Cost

Thank you for your responses Gordo. This really puts my mind at ease. This may be. Though I may have some misinformation or may need to read up more. I was told capping plates would widen exposure latitude and give less distortion on the printing surface. Allowing for deeper reliefs and less...

Flexo Capping Resin Improvement v. Cost

Good Day, In my facility, we produce 0.112 plates and do 90% linework and 10% screened work @ 55LPI on 300 annilox (depending on graphics, then it can go to 85LPI on 600 annilox). We consistently hold a 4% dot. We can push for 3% if need be. and 99% of our art doesn't call for 2% dot. Capping...

    PressCheck Compare Software

Thank you so much, everyone. I think the EyeC is the product I am looking for. All of this feedback really helped me out. Thanks again.

    PressCheck Compare Software

Good Day, I have a customer that states when we send them a finished product, they compare it in an automated system that checks it against the master, digital copy. The two images are compared and show a 'sort of' negative visual of the inconsistencies in print v. master. I have searched all...

Epson Surecolor P9000 Bad Print Nozzle

Thank you for the reply. I did another disassemble and cleaning today and tired flushing the lines a bit. All inks are great except light cyan. looks like I will have to get that new printhead. The good news is, at least I know how to install it myself.

Epson Surecolor P9000 Bad Print Nozzle

Good Day, I am reaching the end of my wits. I have an Epson Sure Color P9000 that had a Light Cyan printing poorly. This, in turn, made all my prints come out reddish. I did what I could to try and bypass using this one nozzle since it was the only one that was bad and all other nozzle checks...

    Anilox Question

Excellent. Thank you so much for this info, Cornishpastythighs. When he told me this, it made sense. It was just after years, I have never been told this info in that way and just wanted to make sure. add to that, that 99.999% of our jobs are on 300 anilox. So I've never really been told that...

    Anilox Question

Quick question... I work in the world of Flexo. My ink technician tells me if I put PMS371 on a 600 anilox, it will never come out to be a full PMS371 and will always look light no matter how much he tones the ink. He says that we will only be able to use 300 anilox to get darker colors to...

    Prepress Camouflage Pattern

gordo, Yes, understood. ... I think (99% sure). In my reply, I was talking about screening as in screening the plates during prepress. But as M@ck confirmed, I will not screen the plates. The plates will be a solid and the ink technician will adjust the tones to match the expected outcome.
