KM controller aka hikari RIP, appears to be deleting jobs after 6 days 23 hours

hi, our new 4070 has km controller, so far adequate for our needs. we often need to check how many prints we've done for each job as we print in batches as needed. some jobs may be printed over a day and some 1-2 months. the history 'queue' seems delete jobs on the 7th day so we're forever...

Has anybody had trouble with cover stock paper sticking together with a Ricoh Lanier ProC5300S? Suggestions?

when looking to replace our old km c1060 we and couldn't afford a 7200, 'bricking' on the 5300 5310 was one of the first things the ricoh sales rep said might concern us... otoh our new km 4070 we're happy with despite that a 2060 would have been adequate I used to think km were ok but they...

    Konica Minolta can't print orange?

hi this orange is 75% magenta & 100% yellow, I'd print 100% & 75% of each colour & have close look. When they installed our 4070 besides several 100% prints of cmyk they also printed numerous full sheets various single colours.

    20-100 x A2 posters aka 'affordable' B2 digital printer

I think Bly that you're possibly correct, idk much about Colorado/flatbed inkjet. Though at $100au on runs of 25 A2s, which we have done several, they couldn't be hand trimmed. idk if Colorado & similar flatbeds print 'borderless'? The only other way thought was borderless inkjet prints from...

    Konica 4065, poor print quality

Having run/owned km 6500, 6000, c1060 & now c4070 with km's own rip (hikari), we have found it (rip) adequate tho fogra is not something we think about. imo the 4070 tho better (eg rego, feed) is generally much the same (as c1060, which I would not have replaced the C1060 except km cancelled the...

    Konica Minolta can't print orange?

We are printing x500 'banners' atm, 90gsm bond, solid orange background, std print, settings, the initial prints I saw looked fine, though imo orange (& greens) from cmyk devices are never 'punchy'. our 4070 is new... I will ask our designer what the cmyk %s are. cheers bill

    20-100 x A2 posters aka 'affordable' B2 digital printer

hi, 'cheap' reliable, high quality short (20-100) run s/s A2 (trimmed to bleed), 150gsm coated digital prints/posters. Has long been a holy grail for our business. Recently a local competitor/frenemy/trade supplier has either gotten access to or installed a B2 digital printer. I have not seen...

Need experienced thoughts on printer options

If they all meet your requirements, and the method & cost of finance comparable, the difference imo is; a) tco over the term of the service contract b) reputation of their service department to minimise downtown fwiw I loathe km sales, but the c4070 is a workhouse & their techs are good km's...

The KM costs 5% more, but is there really a difference or just personal preference? C5300s or C4070

afaik km dont. And altho i imagine ricoh techs are also good the km techs in sydney are awesome. in 10+ years i dont remember being down longer than 1 nite and usually they are on site in 2-3 hours. when toner was short we used their machines (not having to manually feed long sheets was very...

The KM costs 5% more, but is there really a difference or just personal preference? C5300s or C4070

Appreciate your thoughts - we print & distribute posters - the C1060 has chugged along, & somehow I threw the dice & (finally) got a much needed price breakthru on the C4070, altho the C5300 is still a tad less, we'll stick with what we know, and their Techs, round here, are #1. Strictly beer...

The KM costs 5% more, but is there really a difference or just personal preference? C5300s or C4070

So I sort of felt myself veering toward a C5300. Now the decision is imminent I'm attracted to back to the 4070 to print 50k sra3 'posters' pm I've read every thread, I just feel the 4070 is a bit more 'heavy duty'. It weighs more, uses more power, & afaik isnt related to office photocopier...

When or why is an (expensive) RIP important?

i have tried 4 dealers, they either say sorry we cannot help at this time or dont follow up. they were afilliated with the incumbent. most/all? ourdealers only sell/rent/lease the gear itself & sign up the cpc they prolly get a kickback on clicks but service repairs toner is booked directly...

When or why is an (expensive) RIP important?

Have come round, even though the an E-27B adds $9k au to $30-40k printer, in the scheme of things it'll only add 5% over the 5 years. ie $170k to $180 (inc cpc charges). So yep. I'm glad it finally 'clicked' - on 50k prints a month 1/2c increase in 'click' (CPC) = $250pm, or $15,000 over...

When or why is an (expensive) RIP important?

Thankyou chriscozi for summarising & demystifying the black magic of Fiery.

When or why is an (expensive) RIP important?

Yes we've always had one, 20+ years. We (almost) only print 1 up. We print 20-40 files a week. We use the Fiery queue/s, but both the Canon 'Printer Kit' driver (V900) & Ricoh's GWNX postscript driver (C5300s) have these features. An embedded Fiery adds 25-30% to the total cost, (tho we are not...

    Any experience Ricoh C5300s or C5210 ... Canon V900 ... KM C3070

thanks for replying i understand the only professional way to print these atm is on km 7000 series or higher with the pf812 i will double check but believe the c5300 with pro finisher & mt-761 (i think) can stack 300 x 80gsm bond and the 760 feeder tbc but both can handle much than 741/740 i'...
