I am curious to see/hear who may be planning on attending the annual IPA Technical Conference in Rosemont, IL. this year. It is back at the Westin and is only 2 days this year.
After the merger of the IPA and the IDEAlliance, I hope that we see a good turnout. Of particular note, they are doing an "Ink Optimization Round Up" that will compare printed results of 11 vendor's software solutions applied to a GRACoL press sheet. There will also be a published study that highlights all systems and their measured and visual results.
Vendors participated from China, UK, Canada, US and Germany and is a "Who's Who" of prepress software providers including some big names.
(Caveat: My company is one of the vendors by I am also on the IPA planning committee for this event.)
They call it a "Round Up" but it's really a "Shoot Out" like the old proofing events from 2004-2008 where they packed the ball room with interested companies. We hope to see the same this year and hope you can attend.
