4up and 8up options

Looking at a used APOGEE X workflow that is driving a 4up CTP. Just wondered if it would drive an 8up as it is configured. Does anyone know how to check this?

In your place I would still call Agfa for this information. Present your case as considering the possible purchase of a used system (model and series) among other options. You will get attention from them a) because they may have a same or similar used unit they have taken in trade, b) because regardless of what you buy this time around, you are a potential future customer when the time comes for your next purchase, and c) because if you buy an Agfa system from anyone else, you are still prospect for consumables and service.

4UP or 8UP output

Is it true that AGFA licenses their APOGEE X systems for either 4up or 8up outputs?
Yes, you are correct there is a charge to run 8up. You can find out what you are licensed for by running a Apogee Prepress Report under the Help menu. You should see something like this in the basic report:
OUTPUT_SIZE_MAIN_OUTPUT ParameterLicense Never -1 1 0 4-Up
OUTPUT_SIZE_MAIN_OUTPUT ParameterLicense Never -1 1 0 8-Up
OUTPUT_SIZE_MAIN_OUTPUT ParameterLicense Never -1 1 0 2-Up
OUTPUT_SIZE_PROOFER ParameterLicense Never -1 1 0 128-Up
OUTPUT_SIZE_PROOFER ParameterLicense Never -1 1 0 128-Up
The last values say what you have. (4-Up)
