Nowadays, presses are over automated for what they are designed to produce. There is such a thing as the point of diminishing returns, and we have passed it a few years ago. Unless we invent a press that prints a picture by telepathy, manufactures should feel comfortable with the degree of innovation so far and concentrate on making them more reliable and less expensive to maintain.

Is this a joke? Or a just an advertising gimmick?

As for what Francois said, all this innovation is great but why don't any press manufacturers try making a press that doesn't require a trillion impressions a month to justify the expense?

Francois, I can see you are very serious about your comment. Just to let you know, the original article was an April Fools story.

I would also add that it is still important to improve the press design. Of course it would be also good to make it less expensive and easier to maintain.
