Adast Paper Cutter MS80 DSE, Error 150, IRC encoder error

We have following problem with a Paper Cutting Machine Adast MS80 DSE, year 1999. That's one of the last models with cut computer after company Adast got bankrupt.

When powering on the machine the backgauge usually needs from time to time a reference position drive. Suddenly the backgauge won't stop at his reference position and drove to the full extremity at the end position switch backwards.
After this symptom we always get mostly the error message Error 150-IRC encoder error when the backgauge will be operated through the keypad. So it is impossible to set a right measurement of the backgauge. Further the measurement in the display doesn't fit to the real measurement of the backgauge around a few cm !! (when the fault range is mm you can set the measurement with the coupling of the encoder easily).

Is there anybody who can help me with that problem. Is it possible that maybe the encoder is suddenly defective and loosing some pulses while driving?
