Agfa Selectset 5000 Laser Film Density

I have my Selectset 5000 exposure up to 825 how much life is left in my laser? What will I need to replace just the Laser, Laser Assembly, Laser Power Supply? What would be a normal exposure for Fujifilm with a new laser? How long is a new laser supposed to last? Do the Helium Neon lasers degrade even when they are not in use? Dose the brand of film affect exposure very match?

Thanks in advance!

1. SS5000 Density range 0 - 999 (default 550 for 1200 dpi and 350 for 2400 dpi) - your laser has no life at all.
2. Laser assembly. It's possible to replace the Laser only, but by experienced tech
3. Fujifilm is a company name, not a film name - so, the correct answer impossible because of incorrect question.
4. Expectected by CompuGraphics - 5 years in case of 8 hours per day, but in the reality - much longer.
5. No power - no degradation. Laser is not a nuclear bomb.
6. No, it does not in case of reliable brands. Films of the last generation are able to keep an optical density in range 4,0D - 5,2D with good edge-to-edge stability. (don't ask me about Taypoon or Cora and so on...)

Kadee,

Vald gave you good infomation. You must remenber that the Selectset has been out for many years. Even if the Imager was maintained, certain parts will deteriorate over time.
Without seeing a sample of your output, it's very difficult to state why the exposure value is high. If your output from your imager using Fuji film has good density and dots look good. There is no problem.
What type of work are you doing, and what is the spec on the Fuji film?
