AgfaAvantra 44s DEC problem: there is no communication with the RIP error: 15

Hi,

Due to the bad wether, an over power electricity damage the power supply. After the reconstruction, I put back the power supply.
Now the machine load all the test and dosn't go to state 15 (the RIP is closed).
The Agfa service, tell me that the DEC board need to be replaced by a new one.
The cost is to much.

Have someone any idea for this problem solution.
Agfa Avantra 44S, software 8,
Messages: DEC: 5601, DSP: 5408, COR: 10.04-06, DIAG: 20.11
DEC No: 209714-502, 209713-901A Rev.A46

Is the DEC board (hardware) of Avantra 44E the same with Avantra 44S?
(I found one of this in a collegue and I don't know if I can replace it)

I am sure your friend checked the Apis board first and it is in a good working condition. If the problem is the DEC board, then the answer to your question is as follows:

DEC (6.0.3) 209714-502 is compatible for both Avantra 44 S and Avantra 44 E. You will need to upload the right firmwares(Software 8.0 in your case) and parameters to the New DEC board. I suggest to use UNIDIAG (Universal Diagnostic Software) instead of Avdiag for the safer environment to do this. Also keep your old DEC board somewhere safe for rainy days.
