• Best Wishes to all for a Wonderful, Joyous & Beautiful Holiday Season, and a Joyful New Year!

And the 2025 Pantone Color of the Year is.........

On a side bar...

The first graphic design studio that I worked at was "Etienne Creative" in 1969. Errol H. R. Etienne was a profound influence in my attitude towards the graphic arts as he epitomized the complete commercial artist excelling at design, illustration, photography, and typography.

He loved brown. In fact, in 1970, he even self published a children's book titled "Brown Things" which was screen printed on handmade Japanese paper.

Interesting how small things can remain a poerful influence down through the years.

You can read a bit about him here: Errol Étienne - Wikipedia

Geeze Price. Why don't you tell us how you really feel?
That is how I really feel. What used to be an easy way to communicate colors has now devolved into none of my customers sending their files with Pantones encoded, but still expecting spot color.

In fact, I'm probably not using strong enough language. The "people" that lead Pantone are not people. They could solve this problem many different ways, but they chose the most retarded and insulting implementation possible.

**New printer comes out**

With our extended color gamut, we can now cover 99%+ of all Pantone colors!!!

Good luck ever getting a file that includes Pantone colors now! No one is paying for this shit.

It's actually quite easy to get the pantone files. Just as easy as getting access to Creative Cloud for free.

Doing so legally, on the other hand...

Hey, does the news headline "Cadbury-owner Mondelez exploring Hershey acquisition" belong in this thread? lol
