Assistance with Prinergy 6

We have an older Prinergy System 6 running and apparently Kodak does not support it anymore. Just the last few days Prinergy is really slow, though running. Did a reboot. We did do a fresh backup of the database and did compress the Oracle database. Any hints on where to look for issues? Also, are there third party companies someone can recommend to look over the Oracle database health? We are based in the USA. Thank you, Joris

Basics first, open the server manager and see if your RAM is being maxed out, or if your system drive is close to full.
Check if anything has been added to your network recently that could be broadcasting on the net (use Wireshark to check)
Check that your routers and switches are transmitting data at the correct speed, restart if necessary.
If the problem is not in your base architecture, look at what has changed recently, have you added any smart hotfolders or other automated processes?
Are you running RBA and have you added or changed any rules?
Have you got a rule that runs on a timer eg. for archiving jobs and have you had a large number of jobs all hit that timer at the same time?
We have a timer that exports jobs 2 weeks after they have been set to completed, if we have a few big jobs all completed at the same time, we'll see a brief slowdown 2 weeks later when those jobs go to export.

I worked in a Web Shop that had Prinergy and we had to regularly purge & destroy job out of the database. It got really touchy if we had too many jobs in the DB. We purged monthly and destroyed The previous year each month (Destroy Dec 2019 in Dec 2020). We did 300-500 jobs a week.

Thank you for the replies. We will look into it all. We do not have rule based automation. We did a fresh reboot yesterday and Prinergy Workflow itself was running 10 to 20 times slower than normal. The Windows system it is running on is all very responsive though. We didn't get any time outs in Prinergy, just very slow listing jobs and processing. All old jobs are archived and removed. This morning Prinergy seems to be a bit faster so maybe it has to do with the Oracale database doing its checks and balances and being finished with that?

What version of Windows OS are you are using? Anything lower than Windows 2012 R2 Server running on any Prinergy Servers, secondary or tertiary must be using SMB 1 on all Kodak servers. Using SMB 2/3 on any of those servers will make Prinergy run slow. Read up on this at the Kodak Partner place. I think Kodak might need to make the change for you if it needs to be changed.
