Bizhub Pro c500 Waste Toner Collection bottle fills quickly.

My bizhub pro C500 waste toner collection bottle seems to be filling up very quickly.

I have filled two bottles from 4 sets of toners. Is this normal?

What are the factors that determines the amount of waste tone these machines generate from prints?

Do they waste more toner as these machines age or closer to PM cycle changes?

We have a c650 pro and I have only changed the collection bottle 3 times in 300000 copies. If you calibrate a lot you use a lot of toner.

This is very interesting. I do not calibrate very often. Once a week at the moment.
What are the experiences of other Konica Minolta Bizhub pro users? How often do you calibrate and how much prints before toner bottle is full? Can it be related toner coverage on sheets. We print mostly 12x18 card with at least 60% coverage.

When I calibrate I rarely use the refresh toner or belt settings. The tech told me it isn't always necessary and wastes toner.

Halmac,

Upon closer examination I realise that my machine calibrates just before printing the first Job after booting up every time. It also would run adjustments very frequently. Say during a log run of 500 sheets it would adjust twice. It would also adjust after a pap jam. I checked in the 25 mode and discovered that it was set to run adjustments every 330 prints.

Could these adjustments be the culprit. What can I do waste less toner and maintain good quality prints?
