for those of you who run envelopes on the c4090-c4070 machines what settings do you use?

currently trying to run envelopes on it at half speed without the envelope fuser and having this issue(see pics)
local konica tech does not know how to run envelopes on the machine he just wants to sit here and try stuff.

I always had the best luck running envelopes open flap.

I don’t think half speed is what you want, probably.

What are you setting the media weight at? I would try settings below 170gsm.

I had a KM with the envelope fuser and I’m not convinced that it was anything but a dedicated fuser for envelope sizes…not doing anything magic. On my current Ricoh machine of course I don’t have a “envelope fuser” and it runs them fine with the flaps open.

I think your first problem is running them without the envelope fuser. While it is mechanically the same as a standard fuser, it has a different wiring harness that tells the machine to change several settings that are optimized for envelopes including:
  • Disabled Double-Sheet Detection
  • Adjusted Fusing Parameters: The machine automatically changes settings like fuser temperature, pressure, and speed to prevent wrinkling
  • Plus, it prevents "Shouldering" lines on your main fuser
Aside from that, you should be using side-seam envelopes instead of the standard triangle flaps. See more notes on this post.

thanks,
I am trying to run 10 x 13 catalog envelopes to see if we can i do them on there.
i do about 5000 of them a month and it would be faster if i could run them on the c4080.

Any chance i could get someone to do a video on loading Envelopes and them setting it up on there screen?

I cant seem to get anyone to give me any real instructions from the people we have the service contract with.

Thank you.

I run on my 6100 a lot of envelopes but must run with Envelope fuser and most of the envelopes must be flap open or else they get wrinkle
