When we got ours a couple years ago, it was troublesome. Took some time to work out issues.. Then Canon started applying updates and various upgrades. Steamers, ink delivery lines, sensors replaced, cleaning ribbons system changed out. Now the IX is quite excellent. An expensive investment, but great output, and reliability.Worked in a consulting capacity a couple of years ago for about 8 months at a facility that had one.
Awesome machine, but, seemed, in my opinion, to go down more frequently than toner-based machines. YMMV.
