I have never heard how long it takes to change the plate material on the Presstek DI presses.

The time from starting to take the used plate material out until the time the new unused plate material is ready to image.

Just curious. Thanks for any comments.

Hi

I can do a roll change on our 52di in about three or four minutes including cleaning the laser lenses.

It's a doddle to do.

Thanks. Is that 3 to 4 minutes total for 4 colours?

Anyhow, that does not seem like a problem. That's good.

No, that would be about three minutes per colour, it is very rare that you need to change more than one roll at a time.

There are 44 plates on a new roll BTW.

Thanks for the clarification and the added information on the number of plates per roll.

So that's on average for 44 (4 colour) jobs it takes about 12 to 16 minutes to change plate material. That is exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

Thanks.
