The Universal Graphics Engine—CHILI publish (Booth 636)—is introducing an Illustrator plug-in at PRINT-18, fulfilling a long-standing request from the packaging market, especially as the demand for short run packaging—requiring vast amounts of variable graphics—is combined with faster press speeds, shorter runs and compressed schedules.
The new plug-in is designed to reduce the size of output PDF’s for content that is created in Illustrator. This means files can be scaled, rapidly RIPped and sent into the print stream, yielding a vast improvement in graphic file handling, processing speed and throughput. The plug-in is currently in beta-testing and will be made available as a free feature for paid maintenance customers.
One-on-one demonstrations can be scheduled at booth 636.
