What are you using for crash stamping NCR forms?

We're on the market to buy one, I need to know what is being used and how reliable the machines are.

We use 2 older Heidleburg Windmills for crash numbering and simple small diecuting. don't know where to get them now. Other than that we will run numbering as a digital option.

We've also considered digital numbering using FusionPro, MailMerge in InDesign, etc. For non-NCR jobs this is perfect.

The one problem we see with using digital numbering with NCR forms is the possibility of mis-feeds or jams during production. There is no way to guarantee all 4 parts of an NCR form end up with the same invoice number printed on each page.

we have used c&P letter presses and heidelberg windmills in the past. currently we use a heidelberg ks cylinder letter. it is the easiest and best registering of the three. they can print and perf and score and dicut. you could also get a rollem auto 4 or auto 5 I saw these at the print show once pretty neat. that is the nice thing about the new digital machines sequential repeats down the sheet. nice for numbering 3 up receipt books etc.
