Job Summary :

An entrepreneurial, process oriented Senior Manager to drive the strategic planning, business objective setting and market and customer insight/intelligence for one of our key customer communities to help develop our rapidly-growing business. S/he will be responsible for developing the annual operating plan for the segment vertical and be accountable for the revenue, gross margin targets, and other key financial and business metrics related to the performance of the specific segment (or segments).

This person will be expected to be an industry expert, working with Marketing Centers of Excellence and Operations to address market segment needs and achieve the financial and operational targets for his/her community. This role is highly cross-functional in nature and as such the candidate must thrive in a collaborative environment and possess the ability to foster strong internal and external business relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• P&L Analysis. Build a deep understanding of the business and strong orientation towards top line and profitability metrics. Develop financial model and business case for new/current opportunities within vertical. Manage forecast and comparative/variance analysis through close collaboration across multiple functional teams and work with management team in identifying opportunities, risks and corrective action. Achieve aggressive revenue and profitability targets for business vertical.
• CRM. Manage CRM and other Marketing team members regarding the strategic direction of website features and functionality, site usability and overall customer experience. Ensure that prioritization of segment initiatives align with overall business goals.
• Marketing. Collaborate with Marketing team to develop marketing plan and budget for business vertical. Collaborate with Marketing/Creative to define product positioning and develop marketing messaging/creative assets. Identify opportunities for new customer acquisition and improving retention rate, frequency of purchase and lifetime value.
• Creative. Collaborate with copywriters and designers to ensure that content is properly aligned with target customer’s needs. Evaluate and consult on business impact of assortment and new product opportunities.
• Operations. Serve as the company’s internal champion for segment; own all aspects of the customer experience and work closely with the Operations teams to improve processes and policies.
• Market/Customer Intelligence. Drive quantitative and qualitative customer intelligence and research in order to better understand customer profile, needs and behavior. Closely monitor competition and industry trends. Drive market research and competitive analysis.
• Web Analytics & Testing. Develop solid analytics discipline and taking web analytics (conversion, campaigns, funnels) data to formulate strategic insights and provide input to assist in business strategy and product recommendations.
• Site project management. Responsible for driving and managing day-to-day site operations calendar for business vertical. Own strategic direction and execution of site content to ensure a consistent site user experience. Plan, organize and manage deliverables and deadlines across cross-functional resources (merchandising, creative, engineering) to assure execution of all business priorities.
• Process orientation. Define and recommend changes in procedures, to support the continuous improvement of the company’s internal marketing and communications processes. Follow best practices in a continual improvement methodology

Job Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree with strong emphasis on Marketing, Finance, Economics, or other related fields.
• Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
• At least 4+ years of related experience. Proven analytical skills. P&L, financial planning/forecasting and valuation experience a plus.
• Product management, product development or brand management experience with a high interest in understanding each product line and a focus on innovation as well as a good technical understanding of new features and tools for an online retail company.
• Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Intellectual agility. Great thinkers both at strategic and tactical level. Excellent decision-making skills.
• Process oriented with certification in 6 sigma or other continual improvement methodology a plus.
• Can-do attitude and strong bias to action. Always seeking to improve through change and innovation.
• Extremely entrepreneurial and always generating ideas.
• Good interpersonal, communication and problem solving skill.
• Excellent computer and Internet skills with high proficiency with all MS Office products.
