I am looking for suppliers of equipment for cutting down wide format media on a core, for example cutting down a 44" roll in to two 22" rolls - cutting through the media and the 2" or 3" core cleanly and safely. I presume that there are special saws or cutters for this task, rather than just using a band saw? A circular saw would probably be too coarse, unless there is a special guage or type of blade? There are concerns with operator safety and other issues such as product waste, final presentation (rough cut edges) etc. Standard lengths of media on the rolls, such as 30m/98ft photo paper, polyprop and pet backlit, 18m/59ft canvas etc.
Does anyone have links, manufacturer names and or product models etc? Not looking for something that is large like a mill would use, this is for dealer/distributor/importer use. Google has not been of much help. Thank you in advance.
